Following the success of 28 Years Later, Aaron Taylor-Johnson has officially cemented himself as one of Hollywood’s most versatile leading men. Since his breakthrough performance in Nowhere Boy, Taylor-Johnson has spent years teetering between genres. From action flicks like Kick-ᴀss and Avengers: Age of Ultron, to indie films such as Nocturnal Animals, the actor has long proven his acting range.
Recently, Aaron Taylor-Johnson starred in the horror film 28 Years Later, the third entry in Danny Boyle’s apocalyptic series. 28 Years Later earned $150 million at the global box office and received positive reviews from critics. The impressive critical and commercial performance of the film has further launched Taylor-Johnson’s career, showcasing how he can dominate various genres.
Fuze Movie Reveals First Look At Aaron Taylor-Johnson
Now, Sky TV has revealed a first look at Taylor-Johnson in his upcoming movie Fuze. The British crime thriller heist movie, directed by David Mackenzie (Hell or High Water, Outlaw King), follows the evacuation of an unexploded bomb in the center of World War II London, which provides the perfect distracting opportunity for a heist.
Sky TV posted the image via X, with a very short caption that teases Taylor-Johnson and Mackenzie’s new movie collaboration. The image features Taylor-Johnson in plain clothes with a holstered handgun, perched on a car hood with a sniper rifle, looking serious as he stares down the scope at an unknown target. Taylor-Johnson is not the only big name to star in Fuze, as Theo James, Sam Worthington, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, and Saffron Hocking will also feature in the British film. Produced by Sigma Films and Anton, Fuze will be distributed theatrically in the U.K. and Ireland through Sky Cinema and will premiere Sept. 5, 2025, at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Our Take On Aaron Taylor-Johnson In Fuze
Only recently, Taylor-Johnson proved himself in 28 Years Later and Kraven the Hunter, delivering brilliant performances in the horror and action genres. Therefore, there is no doubt that the actor will carry this gravitas into Fuze. However, whereas 28 Years Later depicts a raw apocalyptic realm, judging by Fuze‘s first look, it won’t provide such a spectacle-driven backdrop.
Fuze will most likely rely on its stars to elevate it, and with its mostly British line-up, Taylor-Johnson is the perfect addition to the cast, especially with his recent success. In fact, the thriller genre’s often layered and brooding performances could make Fuze one of Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s best movies yet, so we hope the film gets an international release.
