Avengers: Doomsday Seemingly Adds Returning Marvel Star After 4 Years

A Marvel Cinematic Universe character who has been missing for years in the franchise is seemingly set to appear in Avengers: Doomsday. The Multiverse Saga is only a handful of movies and TV shows away from concluding the mᴀssive storyline for Marvel Studios, as the Avengers: Doomsday cast have been filming throughout 2025.

After the big Marvel Studios’ surprise live-stream in March that unveiled several actors appearing in the film, Kevin Feige confirmed that there’s more Avengers: Doomsday casting news coming. With the level of secrecy surrounding the MCU movie, a surprise cast member may have slipped that they are coming back.

In a new interview with ET Online, Xochitl Gomez, who plays America Chavez in the MCU franchise, was asked about being “hard at work on Avengers,” before sharing what she is excited to give the fans about her character’s involvement. Check out the full exchange between ET and Gomez below:

ET: We know you are hard at work on Avengers – I know you are very тιԍнт-lipped, but what is it that you are excited to bring to America that you are excited to give your fans?

Xochitl Gomez: I mean, I’m excited to see her future. I think most importantly…what do you guys want to see? What are you hoping for America’s future? I would love to see that. Hopefully, we’ll cook up something with what y’all put out there. Manifest it!

ET: Can you pick maybe three words that you hope America embodies in this next installment of the Avengers?

Xochitl Gomez: Bravery. Courage. And let’s say, powerful.

Gomez first made her MCU debut in 2022’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but hasn’t appeared in any other Marvel Studios project since then. At the time of this story’s publication, Marvel Studios hasn’t commented or made a follow-up announcement to Gomez’s comments about America’s MCU return in Avengers: Doomsday.

What Xochitl Gomez’s Avengers: Doomsday Return Means

Given what Gomez didn’t deny when asked, it seems audiences will finally get to see America back in the MCU timeline in the biggest way possible, and her involvement makes the most sense for Avengers: Doomsday. Since America has the power to travel the multiverse, her place in The Multiverse Saga through Phase 6 is more crucial than ever.

With the state of Avengers: Doomsday’s production, there are more than likely going to be more MCU cast members revealed sooner rather than later. Whether it’s through more interviews or formal official announcements from Marvel Studios remains to be seen.

Our Take On Xochitl Gomez’s Avengers: Doomsday Return

With America part of the Avengers: Doomsday cast, it will be exciting to see how she engages with some of the MCU’s most established heroes. Hopefully, with Gomez appearing in the film, it ideally means that other Young Avengers characters will show up in some capacity, getting the MCU closer to finally bringing the iconic team to life.

At this point, it wouldn’t be shocking if Gomez’s MCU heroine was also part of the Avengers: Secret Wars cast, with the Phase 6 finale set to start production later. But for now, based on Gomez’s comments, the MCU audience can look forward to seeing her in 2026 through Avengers: Doomsday.
