Ryan Reynolds Teases ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool/Avengers Crossover As Doomsday Enters Fourth Month Of Production

Ryan Reynolds has sparked speculation that ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool is returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe sooner rather than later after a cryptic Avengers pH๏τo. Following his return as Wade Wilson in 2024’s ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine, the door for Reynolds crossing into the MCU timeline has been opened completely, allowing him to cross paths with various heroes and villains in the franchise.

As ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine grossed more than $1.3 billion at the worldwide box office, many have been wondering when the Merc with a Mouth will actually be seen next in the MCU. Since the Avengers: Doomsday cast is actively filming the big Phase 6 installment, audience members have obviously been theorizing if 2026 will mark the return of ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool.

Despite his status for Avengers: Doomsday being unknown, Reynolds is now fueling the theories of his imminent MCU return as the actor shared a cryptic social media post. With no caption attached, the pH๏τo features an Avengers logo having a red anarchy-A drawn over it. Check out Reynolds’ post below:

At the time of this story’s publication, Marvel Studios has not formally announced if Reynolds’ ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool will be in Avengers: Doomsday. The only project that he has in the works with Marvel Studios is an MCU movie with ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool and X-Men characters, which is still in the development stages.

What Ryan Reynolds’ Avengers Tease Might Mean

With very little to go on from his post, there are multiple possibilities of what Reynolds’ Avengers tease could actually mean. The obvious theory is whether or not this is meant to be teasing that ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool will be in the upcoming Avengers installment, since Kevin Feige confirmed more casting news for Avengers: Doomsday was still on their way.

If this ends up being the case, Reynolds could theoretically be getting ready to start shooting his Avengers: Doomsday scenes, ᴀssuming he hasn’t already started. But until Avengers: Doomsday set pH๏τos or Marvel Studios themselves confirm it, time will tell if ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool will even be in the movie.

If Reynolds’ post isn’t related to Avengers: Doomsday, there is always the possibility that he is teasing that ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool could be part of the Avengers: Secret Wars cast. But with Reynolds, anything is possible, as he clearly wants to get fans to speculate what this could actually mean.

Needless to say, whether it is in Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars – if not both – it would be shocking if Reynolds’ ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool has no involvement at all with The Multiverse Saga’s final installments. Hopefully, following Reynolds’ initial post, more clues will ideally emerge soon about what his potential Avengers tease could mean.
