Alan Ritchson suits up as Batman for James Gunn’s DC Universe through incredible The Brave and The Bold art. While Robert Pattinson’s The Batman franchise will continue to exist as an Elseworlds property, the DCU will feature its own Dark Knight that will exist alongside the other DC icons in Gunn’s franchise.
As The Brave and The Bold movie is in development, the DCU audience has been sharing many names of who they want to see as the next live-action Batman. One of them is Ritchson, with the Reacher star having been on the record numerous times about wanting to play the Caped Crusader.
Gunn recently commented on Ritchson’s Batman casting wish, which has sparked more fans wanting to see the actor suit up as the iconic Gotham City hero in the DCU. To showcase what he could become, BatmanMoumen shared new art of Ritchson’s potential look in The Brave and the Bold. Check it out below:
Ritchson has previously played a handful of other DC Comics superheroes, as the actor portrayed Arthur Curry, a.k.a. Aquaman, in the Superman TV show, Smallville, for several seasons. However, Aquaman wasn’t Ritchson’s only DC gig, as he joined the тιтans series as Hank Hall, a.k.a. Hawk.
What The Alan Ritchson As Batman Art Means
While time will tell if Ritchson will be cast as Batman in the DCU’s Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters,” the fact that more fan-art pieces continue to be made goes to show how popular he is as a choice for the DC icon. Given that Gunn is even a fan of Ritchson himself, it’s not a shock that audiences are now more eager than ever about this casting potential.
However, it’s crucial to remember that casting for Batman in The Brave and The Bold has not started yet, as the script is still being worked on, according to Gunn. Once The Brave and The Bold screenplay is finished and approved, that’s when DC Studios would actually start looking for actors to take on the тιтular role.
Our Take On The Alan Ritchson As Batman Art
Seeing how incredible Ritchson looks as Batman in the DCU artwork, and knowing that he is a fantastic action star, he would absolutely be a perfect choice as Bruce Wayne for DC Studios. Whether or not Ritchson will at least be considered for the role remains to be seen, as the DCU’s Batman will be one of the most sought-after roles in Hollywood.
Since the DCU’s Batman will be different from the version seen in the DCEU movie timeline, whoever gets cast will don the suit for quite a while. Hopefully, as The Brave and The Bold script comes together, more details on the Batman casting process will emerge in the near future.
