Timothy Olyphant May Have Accidentally Confirmed His Role In Netflix Sequel To Quentin Tarantino’s Oscar-Nominated Movie

Timothy Olyphant accidentally reveals that he might return to star in the David Fincher-directed sequel to Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. With a script penned by Tarantino, Brad Pitt will reprise his role as Cliff Booth in Netflix’s new movie, currently in production. Olyphant previously played James Stacy, an actor who starred in the fictional Western TV series Lancer.

Set in the late 1970s, eight years after the events in the original film, Fincher’s spinoff will tune into a chapter in Cliff’s life when he worked as a fixer in the industry. So far, the confirmed cast includes Scott Caan, Elizabeth Debicki, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Carla Gugino, Holt McCallany, JB Tadena, and Corey Fogelmanis.

In an interview with Team Coco about Alien: Earth, Olyphant, who stars in the TV series, accidentally revealed that he might be in the scheduled Cliff Booth spinoff. At the mention of the movie, the actor mouthed, “I’m in it,” but after realizing he was on camera, he clarified that he wasn’t entirely sure he’d be in it. Check out his comment below:

What This Means For The Cliff Booth Spinoff

The Cliff Botth spinoff went into production in July, and set pH๏τos have offered a glimpse at the character designs of Pitt’s тιтular stuntman-turned-fixer. Aside from new cast announcements and the movie’s intention to explore a darker side of Hollywood in the 1970s, there’s very little known about the plot details.

Olyphant’s comment teases his potential involvement in the new movie. While what he said doesn’t serve as an official confirmation this time, it sounds like the actor has been in talks to star. While it could mean that he reprises his role, the extent of his involvement is unclear.

With the highly anticipated spinoff currently in production, more news might come to light in the next few months. Aside from promoting the FX series Alien: Earth, Olyphant isn’t currently filming any projects. He’s also expected to appear in the TV series The Five-Star Weekend, which will start filming later this year, and in Anya Taylor-Joy’s Apple TV series Lucky, also currently in pre-production.

Our Take On Timothy Olyphant’s Potential Role In The Cliff Booth Spinoff

While Olyphant isn’t at liberty to confirm whether he will be in the Cliff Booth spinoff, the possibility is already exciting. His potential involvement also hints at a deeper connection between the two movies. In Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Olyphant’s Stacey met Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) on the set of Lancer, where Dalton guest-starred as a villain.

It’s unknown whether DiCaprio will be in the Cliff Booth spinoff, but if Cliff crosses paths with Stacey, he’s not so far from stumbling across other characters from the original movie.
