Alexandra Daddario Suits Up As Wonder Woman In New DC Art Following James Gunn’s Exciting Update

Alexandra Daddario is one of the most popular casting choices to play the new Wonder Woman of the DC Universe, and the Mayfair Witches actress looks the part in thrilling DC art. Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman is done. The actress initially claimed that she would work on Wonder Woman 3 with James Gunn and Peter Safran. However, that was debunked.

Since the announcement of the DCU’s first projects, which included the Wonder Woman prequel series Paradise Lost, but no movie for Diana Prince, James Gunn has made it clear that the role will be recast when talking to fans on social media. After a long time with no updates, it has now been confirmed that a Wonder Woman movie is being written.

On DeviantArt, dferg24 shared a look at Alexandra Daddario as Wonder Woman in the DCU.

The DC fan art sees the Percy Jackson star don a classic Wonder Woman suit, with the “swimsuit-like” costume presenting a stark contrast from the more armored look Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman had in the DCEU. The Wonder Woman movie is a priority for DC Studios, which means casting for the upcoming DCU film might not take too long to start.

What The Alexandra Daddario DCU Wonder Woman Art Means

Given how the DC art of Alexandra Daddario as Wonder Woman is not official, it does not bear any impact on casting. However, it stands as a solid example of what the actress could look like as Diana Prince, and Daddario would be able to pull off a look that fits with the tone of the DCU’s first movie hero.

That would, of course, be David Corenswet’s Superman. Recently, James Gunn saw the first movie in the DCU soar at the box office. With a solid performance, Superman pᴀssed Jurᴀssic World Rebirth at the domestic box office and continues to climb the highest-grossing charts. Corenswet’s Superman is different from Henry Cavill’s, donning the classic red trunks and being more vibrant.

Visually, Corenswet’s Superman would pair off well with what the fan art imagines for Daddario’s Wonder Woman. The DCU could make it so the franchise’s heroes that are not part of the Justice Gang, which wear team uniforms, don their classic costumes from the comics. The DC art shows how Daddario remains a fan-favorite for Wonder Woman despite no casting updates.

Our Take On The Alexandra Daddario DCU Wonder Woman Art

Absolute Wonder Woman poses for the camera in DC Comics

The DC art is a perfect showcase of how Daddario would fit Wonder Woman. After all, the actress does have a history with DC. Daddario voiced one of DC’s biggest female characters, Lois Lane, in multiple animated movies set in DC’s Tomorrowverse franchise. Given how DCU actors play their characters in live-action and voice them, Daddario has the necessary skills.

In recent years, the actress has been most famous for leading Mayfair Witches, the successful supernatural series that has been renewed for season 3. The star can easily bring Diana’s different sides to life, with Daddario playing fierce, charming, and nuanced characters well. All in all, Alexandra Daddario as Wonder Woman in the DCU would be a great casting.
