Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride 4K DVD Release Date Revealed For 20th Anniversary – Check Out All The Details Here [EXCLUSIVE]

ScreenRant can exclusively reveal the digital and 4K DVD release date of Corpse Bride. The movie was a 2005 dark fantasy stop-motion animated film directed by the visionary Tim Burton. The now-classic film sees Victor Van Dort attempt to flee his arranged marriage, only to end up inadvertently agreeing to marry a bride in the underworld.

The movie did fairly well at the box office when it came out, especially as a stop-motion film. The movie made $117.2 million on an estimated $40 million budget. It also got good reviews and was nominated for Best Animated Feature at the Oscars (but lost out to Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit).

In celebration of the movie’s 20th anniversary, Corpse Bride is getting a 4K restoration DVD release for the first time ever. The film will be available on both 4K Blu-ray and DVD on September 23. Said Blu-ray will be available to purchase online and in-store at major retailers, and the digital copy will be available via Prime Video, Apple TV+, Google Play, and more.

For the collectors out there, a version with steelbook packaging will also be available. The 4K restoration’s reach will not stop with the DVD release. Rather, Warner Bros. will also be re-releasing the film in theaters in October, with some screening times currently available.

This version of Corpse Bride will give audiences the chance to see the film with updated visuals for the first time. Burton has already crafted an impressive gothic fantasy world with stop-motion, but the 4K restoration can give it the level of clarity it deserves on both the big screen and at home.

Our Take On Corpse Bride’s Re-Release

Peter Lorre in The Corpse Bride

It is rare to get a stop-motion film in theaters, and there are not any huge тιтles slated for this year. This makes Corpse Bride‘s 4K restoration even more exciting, as it gives stop-motion fans (myself included) a chance to re-explore one of the medium’s finest works.

Corpse Bride is one of Burton’s more underappreciated works, too often overshadowed by the also-fantastic classic The Nightmare Before Christmas. This 4K restoration and theatrical re-release will provide a much-needed opportunity for Corpse Bride to shine.
