Beloved Family Movie That Is Basically The Fantastic Four Surges On Streaming Amid First Steps’ Release

The Fantastic Four: First Steps released late last month to some of the better reviews that Marvel movies have gotten in recent years. The movie holds an 87% Tomatometer on Rotten Tomatoes, with a 92% Popcornmeter from audiences, on par with the MCU’s previously well-received release, Thunderbolts*.

This critical success has been marked by significant box office momentum. So far, Fantastic Four has grossed over $368 million worldwide, and that total is growing. It will likely beat out Thunderbolts*‘s $382.4 million gross this week, and is also on pace to surpá´€ss the other 2025 MCU release, Captain America: Brave New World.

The plot of First Steps finds the Fantastic Four at a critical juncture in their dynamic. The film opens with Reed (Pedro Pascal) and Sue (Vanessa Kirby) finding out they are pregnant with their first child. This creates an additional sense of family as the quartet, which also includes Reed’s best friend and Sue’s brother, prepares for a baby.

There is nothing quite like the Fantastic Four group dynamic elsewhere in the MCU, but there is a 21st-century animated movie that has often been compared with Marvel’s “First Family.” Now, said film is trending on streaming while The Fantastic Four: First Steps is still in theaters.

The Incredibles Family Hugging Each Other in Their Costumes After a Battle

The Incredibles is currently trending with Disney+ subscribers; the beloved Pixar film was released in 2004 and remains one of the studio’s most well-liked movies. It tells the story of a family of undercover superheroes who find their suburban life disrupted.

The Incredibles was nominated for a remarkable four Oscars, a rare feat for an animated movie. It ended up winning two, recognized for Sound Editing and Best Animated Feature. As per Disney+, The Incredibles is now trending on streaming. The movie is currently at No. 7 on the Disney+ charts in the United States today (Aug. 4).

Our Take On The Incredibles’ Streaming Status

Mr Incredible and Jack Jack in Incredibles 2

The Incredibles‘ present streaming popularity seems directly linked to Fantastic Four. The two superhero family units have often been compared due to their characters having similar powers. So, it would seem that the most recent MCU film is helping to keep the decades-old Pixar movie relevant.

First Steps is particularly similar to this first Incredibles movie because of the presence of the baby. Jack-Jack is around a year old in The Incredibles, and Franklin is born during the events of Fantastic Four: First Steps. These franchises have long been compared, but their connection becomes even more relevant when one film is likely to help the success of another.
