An iconic Mel Gibson action franchise is finding a new streaming home soon. While Gibson was born in New York state, his family moved to Australia when he was 12, and that is where he got his start as an actor. Some of his first major projects were Australian, including the 1981 war drama Gallipoli and the first three Mad Max movies.
Collectively, Mel Gibson movies featuring him as an actor have grossed more than $4.7 billion worldwide. Some of his biggest тιтles are M. Night Shyamalan’s sci-fi horror outing Signs (which grossed $408.2 million against a reported budget of $72 million) and the Nancy Meyers romantic comedy What Women Want ($374.1 million against $70 million).
As a director and producer, he has also found critical and commercial success. His 2004 religious drama The Pᴀssion of the Christ earned $612.1 million against a reported $30 million budget, while he was nominated for Oscars as a director for Braveheart and Hacksaw Ridge and as a producer for Braveheart, winning both of his Braveheart awards.
A New Streamer Will Have The Lethal Weapon Franchise In August
All Four Movies Are Coming To The Same Place
The four Lethal Weapon movies, which collectively grossed $952.6 million worldwide, are finding a new streaming home. The action-comedy franchise stars Mel Gibson and Danny Glover as mismatched buddy cops, namely the reckless Martin Riggs and the more ʙuттoned-up Roger Murtaugh.
After four feature-length installments came to theaters between 1987 and 1998, the franchise was rebooted as a Fox television series starring Clayne Crawford as Riggs and Damon Wayans as Murtaugh, which ran for three seasons between 2016 and 2019.

What This Means For Lethal Weapon
The Franchise Is Finally Reunited On Streaming
This move to Tubi will mark the first time that all four movies have been on the same streamer for quite a while. At the time of writing, while the first, third, and fourth films are available on Fubo, Lethal Weapon 2 is not available on any free or subscription-based streaming service.
Lethal Weapon is leaving Fubo on July 30, while Lethal Weapon 3 and Lethal Weapon 4 are leaving on July 31.
While the possible Lethal Weapon 5 is in development hell in spite of Mel Gibson saying he will return to direct and co-star alongside Danny Glover, the fact that all four movies are now in the same place could help spur that process to finally move forward if their simultaneous availability translates to strong streaming numbers on the new platform.
