New Netflix Trailer Reveals First Look At Saved R-Rated Animated Comedy Movie

A brand-new Netflix trailer has just dropped, revealing a first look at the saved R-rated animated comedy movie, Fixed. Directed by Genndy Tartakovsky (Samurai Jack and Primal), Fixed follows a dog called Bull, who discovers he’s going to be neutered, prompting one last wild adventure with his pack of friends. Fixed will release on Netflix on Aug. 13, 2025.

Now, Netflix has officially released the trailer for Fixed, showcasing its bizarre concept, unique animation style, and voice acting from stars like Adam Devine, Kathryn Hahn, and Idris Elba. The trailer shows Bull wrestling with the reality of being neutered, as he goes on a bizarre, raunchy adventure filled with many hilarious hijinks, including visiting a nightclub for dogs.

Director Tartavosky spoke to TUDUM about the film’s concept, explaining how Bull is “a complete human, as a dog” who “believes that his powers come from his dangly bits, but he learns that it is what is inside that is important.Tartakovsky cited Dumb and Dumber, Bridesmaids, and Anchorman, as well as his relationship with his friends, as key inspirations.

The cast also seems pᴀssionate about Fixed, with Tartakovsky revealing that Kathryn Hahn offered input for her role. The director told TUDUM:She wanted her character to be as raunchy as the other guys. It was a great note. We then rewrote her character to be reflective of that idea, and she absolutely killed it.

The five-time Emmy Award-winning filmmaker also talked about Fixed‘s eye-catching animation style. Tartakovsky stated: “I love caricatured and exaggerated animation.” Check out his full explanation of the unique animation style of Fixed below:

I love caricatured and exaggerated animation, so I knew the sensibility that I like to do, and it was [just] a matter of dialing [up] the amount of exaggeration. I think it started out as an R-rated Lady and the Tramp — then as we got into it, it naturally became more cartoony and specific to itself.

I would say it began to really take shape as we were fortunate to hire some of the best animators working in 2D from around the world.

What This Means For Netflix’s Fixed

Tartakovsky’s Artistic Flair Shines

The trailer for Fixed reveals a rather distinct animation style that is clearly influenced by the director’s other works. Genndy Tartakovsky is notably known for adult animations Samurai Jack and Primal, as well as the children’s cartoon, Dexter’s Laboratory. With the simplistic line art outlining the simple character designs in Fixed, it is easy to see the director’s origins shine through.

Tartakovsky’s Fixed was actually canceled by Warner Bros. back in 2024, alongside Coyote vs. ACME and Batgirl.

Interestingly, Tartakovsky’s Fixed was actually canceled by Warner Bros. back in 2024, alongside Coyote vs. ACME and Batgirl, despite being completed. This shelving sparked worry about whether the film would ever see the light of day, as Sony raced to find a distributor. Thankfully, Netflix snapped the R-rated animated comedy up, and it will see a release in August 2025.

Our Take On Fixed’s Trailer

The R-Rated Animation Looks Wildly Hilarious

Considering much of the trailer is censored on YouTube, it certainly demonstrates just how wild Fixed will be for its adult audience. The movie’s concept alone is quite bizarre, as the best adult animated movies often are, but its utter absurdity and approach to taboo topics will definitely offer a lot of comedy, as seen in the wacky trailer.

Furthermore, with the award-winning Tartakovsky serving as Fixed‘s creator and director, there’s no doubt about the movie’s quality. Samurai Jack and Primal have both been hits in the adult animation genre, and this will easily translate into Tartakovsky’s new movie. As a result, Fixed will certainly be an interesting watch when it debuts on Netflix next month.
