Jurᴀssic World Rebirth’s Global Box Office Races Past The Latest Fast & Furious Movie On Universal’s All-Time Chart

Jurᴀssic World Rebirth is stomping its way up a major box office chart. The new Universal movie, which was directed by Gareth Edwards from a screenplay by David Koepp, is the seventh feature-length installment in the Jurᴀssic Park franchise, focusing on a group of new original characters portrayed by Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Jonathan Bailey.

Per The Numbers, Jurᴀssic World Rebirth took in an additional $2.4 million at the domestic box office on Tuesday, partway through its fourth full week in theaters. This brings its cumulative domestic total to $305.7 million, cementing its status as the third highest-grossing domestic movie of the year so far.

Additionally, its global box office haul has reached a total of at least $723.8 million, which sees it racing up Universal’s all-time chart. It has surpᴀssed the $719.4 million global total earned by 2021’s F9: The Fast Saga to become the studio’s 19th highest-grossing movie of all time.

What This Means For Jurᴀssic World Rebirth

Can It Keep Climbing?

While the success of 2025’s Jurᴀssic World Rebirth is remarkable, it is still trailing behind 2015’s Jurᴀssic World (No. 1 on the chart with $1.67 billion), 2018’s Jurᴀssic World: Fallen Kingdom (No. 4 with $1.308 billion), and 2022’s Jurᴀssic World Dominion (No. 9 with $1.004 billion).

Ultimately, it seems unlikely that Rebirth is on track to become a billion-dollar movie like its three immediate predecessors. However, it could potentially earn about $800 million by the end of its theatrical run. Should it hit that milestone, it will not have cracked Universal’s Top 10, but it will have climbed up the chart by a few more slots.

Below, see a breakdown of the movies that currently stand between Jurᴀssic World Rebirth and the $800 million milestone:

E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982)

#16

Fast and Furious 6 (2013)

$789.3 million

#17

Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (2019)

$760.7 million

#18

Wicked (2024)

$755.3 million

If Jurᴀssic World Rebirth climbs that high, it will have outgrossed two additional entries in the 11-film Fast & Furious franchise, only falling behind Furious 7 (No. 2 with $1.46 billion) and The Fate of the Furious (No. 5 with $1.189 billion).

Our Take On The Jurᴀssic World Rebirth Box Office

It Is Still Making A Remarkable Amount Of Money

Even though a Top 10 position is probably not in its future, the movie is still performing extraordinarily well on its own terms. While its exact break-even point is unknown, movies generally only have to earn two and a half times their production budgets in order to turn a profit.

The reported budget of Jurᴀssic World Rebirth is $225 million, so that rule of thumb would place its estimated break-even point somewhere around $562.5 million, a milestone that it has long since surpᴀssed.
