Jurᴀssic World 5’s Villain Is Already Set Up Thanks To Rebirth’s Final Dinosaur Twist

Jurᴀssic World Rebirth works quite well as a standalone movie, but its ending also sets up the next entry in the long-running franchise. Since it was designed to be the start of a new era for the franchise, it’s safe to ᴀssume that a sequel to Jurᴀssic World Rebirth will be greenlit sooner rather than later.

Unfortunately, reviews for Jurᴀssic World Rebirth were somewhat disappointing, but this probably won’t stop Universal from moving forward with a sequel. After all, the newest film in the dinosaur franchise has been a huge box office hit. As of this writing, Jurᴀssic World Rebirth has grossed $719 million globally (via Box Office Mojo), proving that audiences still want to see dinosaurs on the big screen.

While there were plenty of deaths in Jurᴀssic World Rebirth, the movie’s main characters survived their mission to the island of Île Saint-Hubert. This means that characters like Zora, Henry, and Duncan could potentially return in Jurᴀssic World 5. Furthermore, the ending of Jurᴀssic World Rebirth has already teased who the villain of the next movie in the series could be.

Jurᴀssic World Rebirth Sets Up Mr. Parker To Be The Franchise’s Next Villain

Mr. Parker Is Only Mentioned In Jurᴀssic World Rebirth

In Jurᴀssic World Rebirth, Zora Bennett is recruited by Martin Krebs to lead a team to Île Saint-Hubert to extract the DNA of the largest dinosaurs of the land, air, and sea. Even though many of the team members die in the process, Zora and several other characters leave the island with the DNA in hand at the end of Jurᴀssic World Rebirth.

However, Martin Krebs is not one of the team members who survive the events of the movie. The Jurᴀssic franchise has featured plenty of greedy businessmen characters in the past, and Martin Krebs steps into that role in Jurᴀssic World Rebirth. During the climax of the film, Krebs proves that he cares more about making money than other people when he steals the DNA and leaves the other characters behind.

This doesn’t work out for him, as he is eaten by the menacing D-rex before he can escape the island with the DNA samples. Krebs’ encounter with the D-rex foils Parker-Genix’s plan to use the DNA to develop a cure for heart disease. Parker-Genix is the company that Krebs worked for, and obviously wanted to sell this medicine to the public, making a mᴀssive profit while doing so.

However, the ending of Jurᴀssic World Rebirth makes it clear that characters like Zora and Henry don’t agree with this plan. Even though she could make millions of dollars delivering the DNA to Parker-Genix, Zora reveals that she wants to make the findings available to the public for free. Zora putting other people’s lives over her own desire for money proves that she is the true hero of this story.

Because Zora, Henry, and the other characters have no intention of delivering the DNA sample to him, Mr. Parker is going to lose out on billions.

Obviously, Zora’s decision to make the medication open-source will not go over very well with Mr. Parker, who runs Parker-Genix and was Krebs’ boss. Because Zora, Henry, and the other characters have no intention of delivering the DNA sample to him, Mr. Parker is going to lose out on billions. Therefore, in Jurᴀssic World 5, he will likely want revenge.

Despite not appearing at all in Jurᴀssic World Rebirth, Mr. Parker and his company is the reason the story of the film unfolds. Krebs already showcased how greedy he was in Rebirth, but Mr. Parker is probably far worse. Additionally, he definitely has the money and resources to try to take down Zora, Henry, and maybe even the other characters who survived the events of Jurᴀssic World Rebirth.

Mr. Parker As Jurᴀssic World 5’s Villain Explains Why Rebirth’s Cast Would Return

Rebirth’s Story Can Continue In Jurᴀssic World 5

If Jurᴀssic World 5 decides to make Mr. Parker its main villain, then that means the main characters from Rebirth will have to return. While no official announcement about Jurᴀssic World 5 has been made yet, bringing back Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, and Mahershala Ali is probably something that Universal wants to make happen.

Universal is actually the reason why Ali’s Duncan didn’t die at the end of Jurᴀssic World Rebirth, which suggests it really wants to keep this new trio intact. Because of this, it seems very likely that Mr. Parker will be coming after these three characters in Jurᴀssic World 5.

Alternatively, it’s possible that Zora, Henry, and Duncan will return in the next movie to stop another mission that Mr. Parker funds in an attempt to make billions of dollars. After not receiving the DNA retrieved in Jurᴀssic World Rebirth, perhaps Mr. Parker will send another team (and possibly even join them) on a mission to Île Saint-Hubert.

Knowing how dangerous the island is, Zora, Henry, and Duncan may try to stop this mission, or at least save as many lives as they can. A storyline like this could set up the return of the D-rex, who is still alive and roaming around the island after the ending of Rebirth. Therefore, even though Jurᴀssic World Rebirth was meant to be a standalone story, it sets up a lot of potential storylines for a sequel.
