What The Eyes Of Wakanda Trailer Means For The Show

It Explores The History of Wakanda

Eyes of Wakanda will explore the history of the nation by showcasing its different eras through the perspectives of its warriors, the Hatut Zaraze. In an interview with Empire, creator Todd Harris says the series is abouthow Wakandans intersected through history — those futuristic, Star Trek-level Africans who bounce through time.”

This includes a seafaring group modeled after actual Bronze Age tribes, a concept proposed personally by Ryan Coogler, who directed the two Black Panther movies and acts as an executive producer on Eyes of Wakanda. Harris explains, “They were raiders who robbed their way through the Mediterranean, which gave us an open [book] in terms of creating a world based on very vague but dramatic circumstances.”

Although the true promise of Eyes of Wakanda lies in introducing fans to a wide range of new heroes from across history, Harris hints that some familiar characters might also make an appearance in the series, “There’s definitely going to be some familiarity,” he promises.
