With the MCU‘s Phase 6 in full gear, Marvel will release several exciting movie and TV projects in 2026, several of which promise to shake the Marvel Cinematic Universe and its adjacent continuities to the core. Despite Captain America: Brave New World‘s lukewarm reception and Thunderbolts*‘ underwhelming box office performance, 2025 set the stage for a thriving 2026.
Both Thunderbolts* and The Fantastic Four: First Steps directly tease the MCU’s next crossover movie, which in turn will lead into the franchise’s final chapter in 2027. As 2025 ends, the MCU is on the verge of a mᴀssive cinematic event. However, there are several other projects that will likely make 2026 a landmark year for Marvel.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day – July 31, 2026
Peter Parker’s Next MCU Chapter Begins
Following Spider-Man: No Way Home‘s slate-wiping conclusion, Destin Daniel Cretton’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day will begin the next chapter in the journey of Tom Holland’s Peter Parker. Peter’s idenтιтy has been erased from society. All alone, Spider-Man will have to make new alliances and rely on his own wits and self-made gadgets to face his next threat.
The MCU Spider-Man trilogy’s director Jon Watts hands over the reins to Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings visionary Destin Daniel Cretton. Accompanying Tom Holland will be Stranger Things star Sadie Sink in an undisclosed role, as well as the Punisher star Jon Bernthal. MJ actor Zendaya and Ned Leeds actor Jacob Batalon are also set to return.
Avengers: Doomsday – December 18, 2026
Avengers: Doomsday Finally Brings Earth’s Mightiest Heroes Together Again
Seven years after Avengers: Endgame‘s record-breaking success, Avengers: Doomsday presents a new iteration of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. This time, Sam Wilson’s Avengers are set to meet Bucky and Yelena’s New Avengers, Fox’s X-Men, and Earth-828’s Fantastic Four. Building upon Thunderbolts* and The Fantastic Four: First Steps‘ post-credits scenes, Doctor Doom will become a multiversal threat.
Avengers: Doomsday‘s main draw is undeniably Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom, who takes the role of the Multiverse Saga’s final villain from Kang the Conqueror
Almost every member of the aforementioned teams is part of Avengers: Doomsday‘s star-studded cast. Besides the twenty-seven confirmed actors, more MCU stars may join the crossover movie soon, and some may only appear as cameos. Avengers: Doomsday‘s main draw is undeniably Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom, who takes the role of the Multiverse Saga’s final villain from Kang the Conqueror.
All MCU TV Shows Releasing In 2026
Marvel Will Release Five TV Projects In 2026
After releasing only one movie in 2024 and three movies in 2025, Marvel Studios is set to release only two MCU films in 2026. Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Doomsday are both expected to be mᴀssive cinematic events, leaving the rest of the year free for television projects. Marvel’s 2026 slate contains four TV shows and one Special Presentation.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 – March 2026
Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again will take up where the first season left off. In season 2, Daredevil’s army of insurgents will fight back against Mayor Fisk, and Matt Murdock may have a rematch with Bullseye. With little left to lose and Fisk’s list of enemies rapidly growing, Daredevil’s efforts to bring the NYC Mayor’s reign down may finally succeed.
Joining the Daredevil: Born Again cast will be Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones. Scream star Matthew Lillard makes his MCU debut in Daredevil: Born Again season 2 in an undisclosed role, and The Conjuring actor Lilly Taylor joins the series as a new supporting character. Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle doesn’t seem to be returning, as he’ll star in his own Special Presentation later in 2026.
Vision Quest
Marvel’s Vision Quest revisits White Vision after the events of the WandaVision finale. Since he left Westview, White Vision has probably been trying to recover the original synthezoid’s memories and construct an idenтιтy of his own. To achieve it, White Vision may have to reconnect with characters and events from the original Vision’s past, including his robot father, Ultron.
Paul Bettany reprises his role as White Vision, who’s technically a different character than the one he played throughout the Infinity Saga. Eleven years after Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ultron actor James Spader returns as the villainous AI. Whether White Vision will meet his resurrected son Billy Maximoff, who returned in Agatha All Along, is yet to be confirmed.
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2
Even before the first season’s release, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man season 2 was confirmed. Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man season 1 received some of the best reviews in MCU TV history, fast-tracking season 2 to 2026. Previously named Spider-Man: Sophomore Year, season 2 will continue exploring fresh takes on classic Spider-Man characters.
After Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man season 1’s ending, season 2 will explore Richard Parker’s story and his mysterious return.
The team behind Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man was already deep into season 2’s production before season 1 concluded. The biggest update to date is the introduction of Spider-Gwen, whose comic origin may go through some major changes. The rest of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man season 1’s main cast is confirmed to return as well.
The Punisher Special
At the height of Daredevil: Born Again season 1’s success, Marvel Studios confirmed a Special Presentation centered around the Punisher. The Punisher’s Special Presentation builds upon Netflix’s two The Punisher seasons. It also marks the first project in this mid-length format since 2022’s The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special.
Set pH๏τos reveal Jon Bernthal’s Punisher will sport an unkempt beard and a trench coat in his Special Presentation once again.
Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle is set to continue his MCU story after the events of Daredevil: Born Again season 1’s ending, where Castle broke out of Wilson Fisk’s prison. In his own тιтle, Frank Castle will likely face a new street-level MCU villain. Whether The Punisher’s Special Presentation will be set before or after Spider-Man: Brand New Day remains to be confirmed.
X-Men ’97 Season 2
Two years after X-Men ’97 season 1’s mᴀssive success, X-Men ’97 season 2 will revisit several storylines that were left open-ended. Wolverine’s loss of adamantium, Apocalypse’s return, and the X-Men’s trip to the past will all take center stage. Possible character returns include the Avengers and Gambit, who could come back from the ᴅᴇᴀᴅ through magical or scientific means.
Besides season 2, X-Men ’97 season 3 is also in active development, and it will likely release soon after season 2. The whole main cast is set to return for both seasons. However, while Beau DeMayo was actively involved in X-Men ’97 season 2’s development, he won’t return as showrunner and won’t be involved in the show afterward.
