Alan Ritchson’s New Action Movie Is Stealing A Keanu Reeves Move

Alan Ritchson seems to be taking inspiration from Keanu Reeves for his upcoming action movie Motor City. In the movie, which will premiere at the Venice Film Festival in September, Ritchson’s character will be seeking revenge against a gangster in 1970s Detroit after he was framed for a crime he didn’t commit.

Ahead of the movie’s world premiere, director Potsy Ponciroli posted the first image of Ritchson in Motor City. In the caption of the post, Ponciroli revealed that the film only includes four lines of dialogue, which means it will be a very unique action movie. After starring in three seasons of Reacher on Prime Video, it will be great to see Ritchson in yet another action project.

Thanks to the success of Reacher, Ritchson has started to appear in many other action movies, such as Fast X and The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. Additionally, many fans believe Ritchson would be a perfect choice to play the next Batman. Whether he gets cast in the DCU or not, it’s clear Ritchson will continue to find success in the action genre, especially because he is taking inspiration from Keanu Reeves for Motor City.

Alan Ritchson Having Minimal Dialogue In Motor City Copies A John Wick Trend

John Wick Is A Man Of Few Words

Without a doubt, Kenau Reeves is one of the most successful action stars of all time. Earlier in his career, Reeves starred in action movies like Point Break, Speed, and, of course, played the lead in The Matrix series. The innovative Matrix movies blew audiences’ minds and ensured that Reeves was a household name. However, more recently, Reeves has been a part of an action franchise that is arguably better.

2014’s John Wick is one of Keanu Reeves’ best movies and marked the beginning of a new era for the actor’s career. In the John Wick franchise, Reeves plays the тιтular ᴀssᴀssin, who initially seeks revenge for the death of his dog, and then hunts down other killers who serve the High Table in the hopes of living a peaceful, retired life once again.

John Wick is not a man of many words, which makes him even more intimidating in the action franchise. While he does have a few allies who he confides in, John Wick typically chooses to forgo any talking and instead be a man of action. In fact, as the John Wick series has progressed, Reeves’ character has talked less and less in the critically acclaimed action movies.

This has worked out very well for the franchise. 2023’s John Wick: Chapter 4 is actually the highest-rated entry in the series, and fans can’t wait for the upcoming fifth movie. Because of the success of the John Wick franchise, it’s exciting that Ritchson’s upcoming action film Motor City only features four lines of dialogue, which means it’s actually taking Reeves’ strategy a step further.

Joining Ritchson in Motor City are actors like Shailene Woodley, Pablo Schreiber, Ben Foster, and Lionel Boyce, which means that these four lines of dialogue might not even come from the Reacher actor. Therefore, with minimal dialogue, Motor City has the chance to prove exactly why Alan Ritchson is one of the best action stars and physical performers in the world right now.
