The Flash Actor Grant Gustin Reviews The DCU’s Superman Movie

Grant Gustin, who portrayed The Flash in the Arrowverse, shares his DC Universe review of James Gunn’s Superman movie. 2025 is marking one of the best years for DC’s theatrical legacy in a long time, as the Superman movie has emerged as a box office success while also receiving a lot of critical praise.

The installment sets up the wider world of the DC Universe via both its central story and the Easter eggs and DC references in the Superman movie, showing that the franchise’s journey has just started. As fans and critics are making their voices heard about Gunn’s Superman film, several DC actors of the past have also provided their thoughts about the 2025 installment.

One such actor to have shared their thoughts about Superman is none other than Grant Gustin, who starred as Barry Allen in The Flash TV show and the wider Arrowverse, as the DC TV veteran provided his review of the Superman movie on his Instagram. Check it out below:

Grant Gustin Reviews James Gunn Superman Movie

Gustin’s Instagram story featured him donning a Superman: The Movie T-shirt, with the caption, “I loved it. @jamesgunn & David Corenswet created a perfect Superman & Clark Kent.” The actor has previously shown a lot of support for Gunn’s DCU film, including his previous comments on the topic of Superman being an immigrant.

What Grant Gustin’s Superman Movie Review Means

Hearing that Gustin, who has been very open about how Superman is one of his all-time favorite characters, loved Gunn’s DCU installment goes to show the powerful impact the DC film is having on even professionals in the Hollywood industry. Gustin is now the latest Arrowverse star to share his praise for Corenswet’s DCU film, following Brandon Routh’s Superman review.

Whether or not Gustin will share more thoughts about the 2025 film – in the same way that Routh later addressed Superman being “weak” in the DCU movie – remains to be seen. But knowing that Gustin loved Superman speaks volumes by itself, since his take on The Flash is still one of the most beloved portrayals in all of DC’s live-action legacy.

Our Take On Grant Gustin’s Superman Movie Review

With Gustin’s Superman movie pᴀssion coming through after seeing Corenswet’s depiction of the Man of Steel, that could make a crossover with his Flash in the DCU even more rewarding. While the Arrowverse has certainly finished its run on The CW, the multiverse concept is still very much open for the DCU to use, if they so wish.

With Gunn also being a fan of Gustin, the possibilities are endless, as it would be fun to see the Arrowverse’s Scarlet Speedster in the DCU, even for a limited time. But for now, time will tell if Gustin’s Flash and Corenswet’s Superman will ever get to cross paths on the big screen.
