Pierce Brosnan is best known for his stint as James Bond, playing the iconic secret agent in four films from 1995 to 2002 – GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough, and Die Another Day. The Irish actor first gained fame through the TV series Remington Steele (1982–1987). After the show ended, he appeared in the popular comedy Mrs. Doubtfire (1993). After his breakthrough as Bond, he had starring roles in high-profile films such as the disaster thriller Dante’s Peak (1997) and the stylish remake of The Thomas Crown Affair (1999).
Post-Bond, Brosnan remained active in film, taking on diverse roles in hits like Mamma Mia! (2008) and Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (2010). He later portrayed Doctor Fate in Black Adam (2022). Beyond blockbuster films, Brosnan earned critical praise for his earlier work in Nancy Astor (1982) and The Matador (2005), earning Golden Globe nominations for both.

Our Take On The Giant Trailer
Is This Pierce Brosnan’s Best Performance In Years?
Based on the trailer for Giant, boxing trainer Brendan Ingle might be Pierce Brosnan’s best performance in years, and a role that could see him receive renewed critical attention. Boxing trainers have long been reliable vehicles for Oscar nominations, from Burgess Meredith’s Micky in Rocky (1976) to Christian Bale’s Oscar-winning performance as Dicky Eklund in The Fighter (2010).
Though Brosnan’s performance might not be enough for him to receive his first Oscar nomination of his career, it’s nice to see that he still has a surprising transformation left in him.
With Sylvester Stallone acting as an executive producer on Giant, the comparisons to Rocky should be that much stronger. Though Brosnan’s performance might not be enough for him to receive his first Oscar nomination of his career, it’s nice to see that he still has a surprising transformation left in him.
Giant releases in theaters soon.
