True Detective Creator’s New Movie Image Reveals Reunion With Star Of His Most Divisive Season

The first image for True Detective creator Nic Pizzolatto’s latest film has just been released, revealing that the film will see the director reunite with the star of his most divisive season. True Detective is one of the most beloved TV shows of all time, and after a notoriously troubled post-production process, Pizzolatto’s next project is finally nearing its release.

Nic Pizzolatto is the creator of HBO’s True Detective, with him being behind the show’s first three seasons and acting as an executive producer on the fourth. The filmmaker has been incredibly successful in the realm of TV and has written several features, such as 2016’s The Magnificent Seven and 2021’s The Guilty. However, Pizzolatto is now set to make his feature directorial debut.

Easy’s Waltz First Images Reveal That Vince Vaughn Is Reuniting With Nic Pizzolatto

After True Detective Season 2

The TIFF website has just released the first image of Easy’s Waltz, giving a first look at Nic Pizzolatto’s feature directorial debut. Easy’s Waltz will follow a washed-up crooner (Vince Vaughn) who is struggling in Las Vegas when he is given a sH๏τ at the big time by a much older star (Al Pacino). However, the crooner’s habits may end up blowing his last chance.

Easy’s Waltz was written and directed by Nic Pizzolatto and will star Vince Vaughn, Al Pacino, Shaina Twain, and Cobie Smulders. There are still a lot of questions surrounding the upcoming film, but True Detective fans have a lot to be excited about when Easy’s Waltz is finally released.

Our Take On Easy’s Waltz

Will It Make Up For True Detective Season 2?

Nic Pizzolatto teaming up with Vince Vaughn once again is incredibly interesting, as the duo’s last collaboration resulted in the controversial second season of True Detective. While seasons one and three are beloved, many consider True Detective season 2 to be the show’s worst. Vince Vaughn’s casting was the subject of a lot of the season’s criticism, making his return in Pizzolatto’s next project a risky move.

However, after all the criticism that Pizzolatto received, it is doubtful that the director would bring him back if he weren’t certain that Vaughn was right for the role. Vince Vaughn could make up for his True Detective part in the eyes of audiences who didn’t like season 2 in Easy’s Waltz, finally making a masterpiece with Nic Pizzolatto.
