“That’s What The Young Avengers Are”: Kevin Feige Gives 2025 Update On MCU Young Avengers Story

Kevin Feige finally shares an update on the concept of the MCU’s Young Avengers as the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been slowly setting up the famous team. Since Phase 4 of The Multiverse Saga, one of the new superhero teams that Marvel Studios has been carefully teasing is the formation of the Young Avengers.

From fresh faces like Kamala Khan and Kate Bishop to Scarlet Witch and Vision’s super-powered kids, many fans have been speculating that Marvel Studios is potentially developing a Young Avengers movie or TV show. However, Marvel Studios has so far been very тιԍнт-lipped about whether or not the beloved Marvel team is actually getting their own project.

During a recent press roundtable event, which included Variety, Feige was finally asked if Young Avengers is potentially getting a TV series, film, or even an MCU Special Presentation. However, the Marvel Studios president was very coy about giving a concrete answer, as Feige shared the following about the prospects of a Young Avengers spinoff:

Kevin Feige: Potentially… In that case, it comes down to where’s the best story and where is the best strange alchemy. Who would be fun to see them with? Each other, because that’s what the Young Avengers are, but also mixing it up more.

At the end of 2023’s The Marvels, Iman Vellani’s Ms. Marvel had officially begun her quest to put together a team of young superheroes, with Hailee Steinfeld’s Hawkeye being one of the first recruits she approached. During Kate’s cameo, Kamala mentions that Ant-Man’s daughter, Cᴀssie Lang, is also someone on her radar for the team.

What Kevin Feige’s Young Avengers Comments Mean

It’s clear from Feige’s Young Avengers comments that something is definitely being considered with these characters, but his response is also coming at a very interesting time for Marvel Studios. As the MCU is looking to go back to focusing on quality over quanтιтy, that also means not rushing potential movies and TV shows, which would include the Young Avengers.

The focus for Marvel Studios right now is not only finishing Phase 6 of The Multiverse Saga, but also the upcoming X-Men reboot – arguably a bigger IP than Young Avengers. However, that doesn’t mean a Young Avengers movie or TV show couldn’t happen later in Phase 7 or a future phase, while also getting more potential MCU members further established before the hypothetical team-up.

Our Take On Kevin Feige’s Young Avengers Comments

Young Avengers teaming up in Marvel Comics

While Feige is being cryptic with Young Avengers for the time being, it would be shocking if the MCU never does anything with this potential team. The MCU’s Young Avengers may also be something that gets retooled to Marvel’s Champions, another highly speculated-about superhero team amongst fans.

With the great potential that exists with Young Avengers, it would be a shame if Ms. Marvel’s new storyline doesn’t get a payoff, as this would be a fun team to see come to life, either on the big or small screen. Hopefully, Feige will have more details about what the MCU may be doing with Young Avengers in the near future.
