Ahsoka season 2 star Eman Esfandi has shown off his lightsaber training ahead of the Star Wars show’s release. Ahsoka season 2 is set for a 2026 release date, with the show having begun filming in April 2025. Of all the upcoming Star Wars shows, the second season of Ahsoka is perhaps the most anticipated.
On his Instagram page, Ezra Bridger actor Eman Esfandi has leaned into this hype by showcasing his lightsaber skills. Esfandi shared a reel of himself standing in front of a sunset and wielding a blue lightsaber, practicing his spins, flicks, and stances.

This indicates that production on Ahsoka season 2 is in full swing. Esfandi has long been a Star Wars fan, so seeing him wielding a lightsaber is not exactly uncommon. Still, Ahsoka season 2 is expected to deliver on the action front, explaining Esfandi’s recent dedication.
It Looks Like Ezra Bridger Has Some More Lightsaber Action
The Fight Against Thrawn Needs A Jedi
As alluded to above, Ahsoka season 2 is likely to include a great deal of action. The show is set in Star Wars‘ New Republic era, only now with Grand Admiral Thrawn looking to reinstate the Empire’s rule over the galaxy after Ahsoka season 1’s ending. Therefore, Esfandi’s Ezra and his allies have a fight on their hands.
With this in mind, it makes a lot of sense that Ezra would have more lightsaber action scenes in Ahsoka season 2. The first season was about finding Ezra, but this time, Ezra is at the center of the New Republic’s conflict. As one of the few active Jedi in the galaxy, Ezra’s lightsaber skills will come in handy.
Our Take On Eman Esfandi’s Star Wars Future
Of all the Ahsoka actors who were cast as characters who were once animated, Esfandi was my favorite. Not only does Esfandi look remarkably like the CGI model of Ezra Bridger created in Star Wars Rebels, but he nailed the character’s voice and mannerisms, too. For this reason, I am very excited about his Star Wars future.
This lightsaber training video only increases that excitement. Ahsoka season 1’s story meant that Esfandi was only used in the final few episodes, so the concept of getting more of him as Ezra in the future is certainly intriguing. After seeing just how much dedication Esfandi puts into his role in Star Wars, I am even more hyped for Ahsoka season 2 than I was previously.
