Tom Hanks’ beloved movie with a 95% Rotten Tomatoes score is headed to a new streaming home. Hanks has been in some of Hollywood’s most successful and beloved films throughout his career, including comedies (Big), historical thrillers (Apollo 13), and war epics (Saving Private Ryan).

While Tom Hanks has been involved in several acclaimed movies, he shows no signs of slowing down, earning his sixth Oscar nomination in 2020 for A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood. With a Wes Anderson film as his sole 2025 movie, Hanks returns in 2026 for another installment in the Toy Story series. Until then, fans can catch one of his best films on Hulu in August 2025.

Tom Hanks’ beloved classic movie Forrest Gump is set to arrive on Hulu on August 1, 2025. This will be one of several popular movies dropping on the streaming service that day. Also arriving on Hulu are 28 Days, A Simple Favor, Click, Coyote Ugly, Date Night, District 9, Evil ᴅᴇᴀᴅ (2013), Father of the Bride, and Pretty Woman.

Of those movies, Forrest Gump remains the one with the highest critical acclaim. Released in 1994 and directed by Robert Zemeckis, Tom Hanks stars as the тιтular character, moving through several historical events and experiences throughout the 20th century. Zemeckis digitally added Hanks to several real-life newsreels among historical figures.

This made Hanks the first actor since Spencer Tracy to win two consecutive Oscars for Best Actor.

Forrest Gump earned 13 Oscar nominations, winning six of them, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actor for Hanks.
