Mortal Kombat 2’s Shockingly Gruesome Death Scene Spoiled In New Trailer

The trailer for Mortal Kombat II confirmed that Scorpion and Bi-Han will have their long-awaited rematch. Even though the upcoming Mortal Kombat II will focus on the tournament between Earthrealm and Outworld, it will also continue the rivalry between Scorpion and Bi-Han, who was formerly known as Sub-Zero but will likely go by Noob Saibot in the sequel.

At the beginning of the first film, which rebooted the movie franchise, Sub-Zero kills Scorpion and his family. However, instead of remaining ᴅᴇᴀᴅ, Scorpion was brought down to the Netherrealm, which allowed him to return at the end of 2021’s Mortal Kombat to get revenge against Sub-Zero. During the climax of the first movie, Scorpion teams up with Cole Young to defeat Sub-Zero.

But, at this point, it’s obvious that no one stays ᴅᴇᴀᴅ for long in the Mortal Kombat franchise. Therefore, the trailer for Mortal Kombat II showcases an action-packed fight between Scorpion and Bi-Han in the Netherrealm. However, the trailer shockingly spoils the result of the fight between Scorpion and Bi-Han in Mortal Kombat II.

Scorpion Seemingly Kills Bi-Han In Mortal Kombat 2’s Trailer

Scorpion Is Victorious In The Mortal Kombat 2 Trailer

Even though several notable characters were killed in the first movie, it’s been known for a while that certain ones will return from the ᴅᴇᴀᴅ. Most notably, the trailer for Mortal Kombat II confirms that Kano and Bi-Han will once again be prominent characters in the sequel after getting killed in the first film. The trailer doesn’t reveal how these two characters return, but their revivals will likely be Quan Chi’s doing.

Surprisingly, Quan Chi is one of the only new characters in Mortal Kombat II who is not shown in the trailer. This is somewhat disappointing since fans have been waiting to see Quan Chi in live-action since he was cut from 1997’s Mortal Kombat: Annihilation. However, it’s possible the marketing team behind Mortal Kombat II wants to keep his role in the sequel a surprise.

In the video games, Quan Chi is a sorcerer from the Netherrealm who is capable of bringing characters back from the ᴅᴇᴀᴅ. He is the one who turns Bi-Han into the wraith-like ninja known as Noob Saibot in the games, so it would be surprising if the movie franchise changed this. In some of the games, it is actually revealed that Quan Chi is the one who orchestrated the deaths of Scorpion’s family, which means he could have a very interesting role in Mortal Kombat II.

At this point, it’s unclear if the movie franchise will ever reveal that Quan Chi has been fueling Scorpion and Bi-Han’s rivalry from behind the scenes, which could actually make them allies. However, based on the trailer for the sequel, it seems like Scorpion and Bi-Han will definitely still be enemies in Mortal Kombat II.

Near the end of the trailer, an amazing sH๏τ of Scorpion using his chains to travel through the Netherrealm is included. He eventually lands on a platform that Bi-Han is on and the two rivals engage in a fight. Fans have been waiting for this rematch since the ending of the first film, so this will likely be one of the most exciting fights in Mortal Kombat II.

However, the trailer shockingly shows Scorpion slicing Bi-Han’s body in half, seemingly killing him. This is an epic sH๏τ and proves that Scorpion is one of the coolest characters in the movie franchise, but it’s surprising that Bi-Han’s death was seemingly spoiled in the trailer. Therefore, there must be something else going on with Bi-Han/Noob Saibot in Mortal Kombat II.

Mortal Kombat 2’s Trailer Spoiling Noob Saibot’s Death Is Hard To Believe

Noob Saibot Dying In The Trailer Would Be Anticlimactic

Since Scorpion and Bi-Han are two of the most important characters in the movie franchise, it wouldn’t make sense for the trailer to spoil the latter’s death. Even though the trailer showcases quite the slice from Scorpion, I have a feeling Noob Saibot will more than likely survive this fight scene in Mortal Kombat II.

In this scene, it seems like Scorpion pulls Noob Saibot out of Bi-Han’s physical body before slicing him in half. Therefore, perhaps Bi-Han’s physical body will still be able to fight Scorpion afterward. If this is the case, maybe he will be able to summon more shadow-like figures that are similar to the one that Scorpion cuts in half in the trailer.

In the games, Bi-Han basically loses all his humanity and becomes even more powerful after Quan Chi turns him into Noob Saibot.

At this point, it is unknown exactly how Bi-Han’s transformation into Noob Saibot will work in Mortal Kombat II. In the games, Bi-Han basically loses all his humanity and becomes even more powerful after Quan Chi turns him into Noob Saibot. However, the shadowy ninja can definitely still be killed in the games, and a sword slice like the one seen in the trailer would probably cause his demise.

Although, it is worth noting that Noob Saibot can manipulate shadows in the games, so perhaps this figure that Scorpion cuts in half was created by him. Ahead of the movie’s October 24, 2025 release date, this is all speculation, as it is still unclear exactly how Noob Saibot’s powers will work in the movie franchise. However, it would be shocking if the trailer for Mortal Kombat II actually spoiled Bi-Han/Noob Saibot’s death, which means there must be something else going on.
