Vanessa Kirby’s Post-MCU Movie Is A Netflix Crime Thriller, & The First Trailer Is Chilling

Vanessa Kirby is making her MCU debut as Sue Storm in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, but her upcoming Netflix film could be even more thrilling. She continues to make significant strides in her career and is becoming one of Hollywood’s most prominent stars. The actor made her film debut in 2010 and has moved upward to more high-profile projects.

Her star-making role as Princess Margaret in seasons 1 and 2 of The Crown earned her many accolades, including a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress. Following her debut in this series, she had significant parts in successful franchises, including Mission: Impossible and Fast & Furious. In 2021, she earned an Academy Award nomination for her lead role in Pieces of a Woman.

She is an excellent actor and action star, and her upcoming Marvel role is a culmination of everything she’s done in her career so far. After Fantastic Four, she will portray Invisible Woman again in 2026’s Avengers: Doomsday. However, before she joins the Avengers, she’s starring in a new Netflix thriller, which just released its first dark and haunting trailer.

Kirby returns to Netflix in Night Always Comes. Based on the 2021 novel by Willy Vlautin, the film stars Kirby as Lynette, who seeks to create a new future for herself and her developmentally disabled brother. Netflix recently released the first trailer for Night Always Comes, highlighting Kirby’s violent, determined performance as Lynette. Kirby’s last Netflix film Pieces of a Woman earned her an Academy Award nomination, and Night Always Comes looks like another vehicle for her to show off her versatility as an actor. She has a commanding presence, and it will be exciting to see how she leads a crime thriller.

It’s also refreshing to see Kirby continue to take on dramatic roles amid her Marvel ascension. She will be busy after Fantastic Four as she gears up for the next Avengers film. Hopefully, she will still have time to perform these kinds of roles, allowing the audience to see how extensive her range can be following her Netflix movie.
