The victim was 7-year-old Zoey Price, a first-grade student at a charter school in southwest Atlanta.
Atlanta Police Department (APD) reported that an unknown person drove past the house and fired multiple sH๏τs directly at the home.
Zoey and her mother, Cᴀssandra Ervin, 44, were both sH๏τ inside the house.
Zoey was critically injured and died at the hospital.
Her mother sustained bullet lodged in her ribs but was later discharged.
This was a senseless drive-by shooting, with no direct conflict with the family.

March 3, 2026: The APD arrested two suspects:

Preston Smith, 19 (accused of directly shooting).
Steven Richardson, 17, accomplice.
Both are charged with murder, aggravated ᴀssault, and related offenses. They are currently being held without bail.
According to the arrest warrant, Smith drove his car and fired into the house after a minor dispute between the two groups.
