Forget The Main Villain, Mortal Kombat 2’s Most Powerful Fighter Could Be This New Character

An underrated character could surprisingly end up being the most powerful fighter in Mortal Kombat 2. Since Shang Tsung failed to kill all of Earthrealm’s champions in the first film, they will fight against Outworld’s warriors in a tournament in the upcoming Mortal Kombat 2. This means that many new characters will be introduced in the sequel, such as Shao Kahn, Quan Chi, Kitana, and Baraka.

Ahead of the movie’s release, it has been confirmed that Shao Kahn will be the main villain in Mortal Kombat 2. This makes sense, since he is the current emperor of Outworld. In the movie, Shao Kahn will desperately want to win the tournament so that he can invade Earthrealm.

While Mortal Kombat 2 will mostly be focused on Earthrealm and Outworld, it may also include the realm of Edenia. In the story of the games, Shao Kahn invaded Edenia and took Queen Sindel as his wife and Princess Kitana as his stepdaughter. On the surface, it may seem like Shao Kahn is stronger than both of these characters and all the other Outworld warriors, but Sindel could actually end up being the most powerful fighter in Mortal Kombat 2.

Sindel Could Become Stronger Than Shao Kahn In Mortal Kombat 2

Sindel Could Be A Major Villain In Mortal Kombat 2

Since there will be plenty of new characters in Mortal Kombat 2, in addition to all the returning fighters, there’s a chance that Sindel will not get a lot of screen time in the sequel. The movie will probably primarily focus on characters like Johnny Cage, Shao Kahn, and possibly even Quan Chi, since he will likely bring many people back from the ᴅᴇᴀᴅ.

However, since she is an extremely powerful character in the video games (especially the recent ones), I’m hoping Sindel won’t be sidelined in Mortal Kombat 2. If the sequel takes inspiration from video games like 2011’s Mortal Kombat 9, Sindel could actually end up being very important in the movie franchise.

Sindel will be played by Australian actress Ana Thu Nguyen in Mortal Kombat 2.

Sindel is already a very strong character thanks to her Edenian heritage and her mastery of magic, but she becomes more powerful than ever in Mortal Kombat 9 after she is enhanced by Shao Kahn with Shang Tsung’s soul, which basically kills the sorcerer. After acquiring the soul of Shang Tsung, Sindel arguably becomes the strongest character in the game and kills many Earthrealm fighters.

In one single fight in Mortal Kombat 9, Sindel manages to kill Jax, Jade, Kabal, Cyber Sub-Zero, Smoke, Stryker, and Kitana. While not all of these characters are confirmed to appear in Mortal Kombat 2, Sindel could still go on a major rampage in the movie. Plus, it’s worth mentioning that everyone else involved in enhancing Sindel’s powers, namely Shao Kahn and Shang Tsung, will appear in the sequel.

Perhaps Shao Kahn will steal Shang Tsung’s soul and give it to Sindel to punish him for failing his mission in the first movie. At this point, it’s hard to predict exactly what Sindel’s role will be in Mortal Kombat 2, but she could end up being an extremely important character in the highly anticipated sequel.
