First Official Supergirl Movie Poster Revealed By James Gunn Spotlights Kara’s Suit

The first official look at Milly Alcock’s Supergirl is out. The first movie in the new DC Universe was James Gunn’s Superman. Now, the franchise will continue on the Kryptonian corner of the DCU’s Chapter One, as DC’s next movie is set to be Supergirl, which will fly into theaters on June 26, 2026. However, the first look at Kara has already debuted.

On Twitter, James Gunn revealed the first poster for Supergirl.

The poster pokes fun at the marketing campaign for David Corenswet’s Superman movie. A mural with the House of El crest and “Look Up” was scratched, with “Out” replacing “Up.” Alcock’s Supergirl does not show her face, but the first official look at the DC hero allows audiences to get a closer peek at Supergirl’s suit.

Milly Alcock’s Supergirl suit will be a mix of Kara’s classic costume from the comics, the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow suit, and David Corenswet’s Superman. That is due to how Alcock sports the same House of El crest as Corenswet, but dons Supergirl’s classic red boots and skirt, with a golden belt that mixes her classic suit and Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.

What The First Official Supergirl Movie Poster Means

James Gunn Did Not Waste Time To Spotlight The Girl Of Steel

Warning! This article contains SPOILERS for Superman.

The Superman movie’s ending featured a major surprise as Milly Alcock’s Supergirl made her DCU debut. Now that the secret is out there, with Superman teasing the story of Alcock’s Supergirl movie, DC has chosen to start the promotion for its next film. As could have been expected, the studio is using Supergirl and Superman’s connection to do so.

Milly Alcock’s Supergirl cameo in Superman teased how she would be different from other live-action iterations of Kara Zor-El. Supergirl arrived drunk at the Fortress of Solitude, with Superman commenting on how she partied on planets with red suns to get drunk. The first official Supergirl movie poster plays with their differences.

Instead of looking up at her like was done for Superman, people should look out for Supergirl, whose party girl persona is wilder than Corenswet’s mild-mannered Man of Steel. Alcock’s Supergirl also sports her same costume from Superman in the new Supergirl movie poster, complete with the long brown coat. DC is smartly using her cameo to boost hype for Supergirl.

Our Take On The First Official Supergirl Movie Poster

Milly Alcock’s Supergirl Looks Perfect For The DC Universe

The first poster for DC’s Supergirl movie could not be better. It uses the hype from her debut in Superman to raise awareness for Supergirl‘s 2026 release. The costume pops, and the idea of changing Superman’s “Look Up” tagline to “Look Out” for Supergirl makes perfect sense. It is a small detail that reflects their different personalities well.
