Back in Action did not get good reviews, earning a rotten 29% Tomatometer from the 96 critics who reviewed it on Rotten Tomatoes. This included a 5 out of 10-star review from ScreenRant‘s Ferdosa Abdi, who deemed the film “unambitious yet entertaining.”

However, new data from Nielsen (via Puck) shows that Back in Action was a huge success for Netflix in terms of viewership. The data positions the film as the No. 3 top streaming program from January 2025 through June 2025, as it was viewed over 5.2 billion times.

Back in Action is topped only by Moana 2 on Disney+ and Despicable Me 4 on Netflix. Other highly viewed тιтles on the list included Moana, The Wild Robot, The Electric State, and Kraven the Hunter.
