Upcoming Chris Pratt Movie Gives Him A New Version Of Hit Streaming Show With 94% RT Audience Score

Chris Pratt has a busy upcoming slate. Beyond his first post-Endgame Marvel Cinematic Universe movie, Thor: Love and Thunder, the actor’s career has been taken up in large part by prominent voice acting roles. This includes parts in The Super Mario Bros. Movie and Garfield.

Despite his emphasis in these areas, Pratt’s performances as a voice actor have received mixed reviews. Some people feel that his voice acting persona is too similar to his real-life voice.

Because these films have been successful, however, Pratt is already slated to return to voice acting for their sequels. However, he is also focusing on other aspects of his career, including sci-fi, as he will star in the film Mercy.

Sci-fi and animated films seem to be a frequent thread throughout Pratt’s recent career. His next movie, however, will continue one of the actor’s lesser-known career trends in recent years.

Chris Pratt Will Play Another Navy SEAL In Way Of The Warrior Kid

Way Of The Warrior Kid Could Give Pratt Another Franchise

Chris Pratt as James Reece aiming a gun in The Terminal List.

Pratt is set to appear in Way of the Warrior Kid. Directed by McG, the movie will tell the story of a young kid who, in an attempt to overcome bullying, trains to be a warrior through the help of his Navy SEAL uncle. In addition to Pratt, the cast includes Linda Cardellini, Parker Young, Levi McConaughey, and Jude Hill.

Pratt plays Jake, the Navy SEAL uncle. Interestingly, Way of the Warrior Kid will actually mark the third time that Pratt plays a Navy SEAL in a project this decade.

One of the previous two projects was The Terminal List, a Prime Video series that premiered in 2022. This show also has a prequel series scheduled with The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, in which Pratt is also expected to appear. The Terminal List season 2 is also confirmed, giving him another sH๏τ at his Navy SEAL character.

Playing a Navy SEAL three times in the 2020s is a fairly specific career trend. While it is so far not slated to continue beyond Way of the Warrior Kid, this could help create a new avenue for Pratt.

Way of the Warrior Kid does, however, seem like a much more family-friendly take on the Navy SEAL drama. This could be a great opportunity for Pratt, as it could give him the chance to exercise both his action chops and his goofier qualities.

Way of the Warrior Kid also has the potential to launch a new franchise for Pratt. There are multiple books in the source material that the movie is adapting. If the film does well, sequels could be made.

This development could be great for Pratt’s career. The Guardians of the Galaxy franchise and the MCU more broadly were Pratt’s biggest series for a while, but he has not featured in properties as large as those since. Way of the Warrior Kid could finally give him a new series, as Pratt plays a Navy SEAL once again.
