The MCU Just Confirmed Its Most Powerful New Character

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is introducing many characters in 2025, and the most powerful of them has now been confirmed by the franchise. There are many powerful characters in the MCU’s slate of projects. Some of them are heroes, like Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel, while others are villains, like Josh Brolin’s Thanos, with some anti-heroes thrown into the mix.

With Marvel Studios’ 2025 projects introducing some exciting new characters and teams to the franchise, they have altered the MCU’s power rankings in interesting ways. Marvel only has one movie left before the year ends, and it seems like the studio reserved its most powerful character introduced in 2025 for the project. The movie in question is Marvel’s Fantastic Four reboot.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Had Already Teased Its Setup Of A Majorly Powerful MCU Character

Marvel Studios’ 2025 Projects Have Introduced Many Powerful Heroes And Villains

Reed Richards, Franklin Richards, and Sue Storm lying down in The Fantastic Four First Steps

After months of rumors over set pH๏τos and videos, Marvel confirmed that Franklin Richards would appear in The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Franklin is the oldest child to come from Reed Richards and Sue Storm in Marvel Comics, being more powerful than his sister, Valeria. With Franklin’s MCU debut, he instantly becomes one of the franchise’s most powerful heroes.

Even though it seems like Franklin will be a baby for most — if not all — of The Fantastic Four: First Steps, he remains incredibly powerful all the same. Franklin’s biggest power stems from his ability to manipulate reality. In Marvel Comics, Franklin managed to subconsciously create a pocket universe and more. Now, the MCU has confirmed his immense power level.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ Trailer Confirms Just How Powerful Franklin Richards Really Is

Galactus Has His Sights On The MCU’s Youngest Hero

While Marvel Studios still has to show Franklin Richards using his powers in the MCU, The Fantastic Four: First Steps‘ latest trailer revealed Galactus’ goal. In the footage, Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards reveals to journalists during a press conference that the team went into space to negotiate with Galactus for Earth’s safety. However, Galactus demanded Franklin in return.

Galactus wanting Franklin makes the character even more important than he already was. If Galactus, who is a cosmic being of immense power, sees enough value in the baby to the point that he would gladly trade a planet — Earth — for him, then Franklin must truly be as powerful in the MCU as he is in the comics.

I find it hard to believe that the Devourer of Worlds would propose such a deal unless that was the explanation. By manipulating reality, Franklin could keep creating universes and planets for Galactus to devour. As such, he would surely be above a single planet’s value to Ralph Ineson’s MCU character.

The MCU Confirming Franklin Richards’ Importance In The Franchise Shows Just How Important The Fantastic Four’s Movie Will Be

Marvel Studios Needs To Have The Best Fantastic Four Movie

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is one of the MCU’s most important movies in years. After previous iterations of the team in live-action failed to be major box office performers or land well with critics and the audience alike, the Fantastic Four movie has to be a hit for Marvel. With the 2025 Marvel movie struggles, the MCU needs a win.

The film’s importance has grown with the reveal that Galactus wants Franklin Richards. The latest The Fantastic Four: First Steps trailer confirms that the movie will introduce one of the MCU’s most powerful characters. As such, it should be key to setting up future releases, like the upcoming Avengers movies. The Fantastic Four: First Steps is a key MCU release.
