One Of Superman’s Closest Allies Has A Shocking Response To Krypto

An ally to the Man of Steel from Superman has outlined their shocking response to Krypto the Superdog. James Gunn’s Superman movie contains several outlandish comic book elements, with Krypto being chief among them. As part of Superman‘s cast of characters, Krypto proves a close ally to Clark Kent in the battle against Lex Luthor.

Interestingly, though, the actor responsible for playing one of Superman’s closest allies in the film revealed to Screen Rant‘s own Ash Crossan that they have an unexpected relationship with the Superdog. Alan Tudyk, who plays Superman’s helper, Robot #4, revealed that he “does not like Krypto.”

According to Tudyk, Robot #4 thinks Krypto is “unruly. I think if it was up to him, he’d take him out to a farm. A nice farm. Where he could play and run all day.” Evidently, not all of Superman’s allies have a strong friendship with the superpowered dog from Krypton.

What Alan Tudyk’s Superman Robot Comments Mean

Tudyk’s comments reveal that Superman‘s robot companions are very set in their ways. Tudyk pointed out that Robot #4 is “Superman’s sort of right-hand man,” also stating that he and the other robots in the Fortress of Solitude are very much about the rules. Concerning what this means for Superman as a movie, it indicates the robots will help Supes within reason.

This ties back to the comments about Krypto. Dogs tend to be mischievous at the best of times, never mind superpowered ones. It makes sense that the robots of Superman, who are so dedicated to the rules they adhere to, would find it difficult to empathize with Krypto.

Our Take On Alan Tudyk’s Superman Robot Comments

David Corenswet's Superman injured and carried by robots in the DCU Superman movie trailer

I love hearing Tudyk’s comments about the robots in Superman. After the DCEU’s iteration of the hero removed elements like the Fortress of Solitude by opting for a more realistic take with the crashed Kryptonian ship, I am very happy that James Gunn’s Superman is leaning into the source material’s more comic book aspects.

The robots only prove this, as do their interactions with those around them. Tudyk’s comments that Robot #4 also has “a little evil in him” are interesting and prove that each robot will have its own personality. This will give Superman a much more varied cast of characters than first thought, and, apparently, offer up an entertaining rivalry with Superman’s dog.
