The upcoming Avengers movies will not be able to use a major death that had been teased by a Marvel Cinematic Universe star. Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars are expected to feature characters from all over the MCU and the multiverse at large. That was confirmed by how the cast of Avengers: Doomsday even includes players from Fox’s original X-Men.

That opens the door for major MCU characters to be joined by some supporting players from Marvel’s many movie franchises. With the debut of Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom being the main aspect of Avengers: Doomsday‘s story, the villain should kill at least one hero, putting him as a Thanos-level threat. However, one MCU character’s death can likely be ruled out.

Still, Hank Pym’s fate seemed sealed for the Avengers movies.

Asked whether he would return after Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania for another movie in the Paul Rudd franchise, the Marvel actor revealed that he would do so if his character were to die.
