Anakin Skywalker always loved to show off, but one epic Darth Vader scene caps it all when it comes to aura farming. Let’s face it, Anakin Skywalker always loved to show off more than a little. He knew how good he was, and he frequently chose ridiculous over-the-top plans that only the Chosen One could pull off.
He never lost that habit, and Disney Star Wars in particular has given Darth Vader some incredible moments of aura farming. The “Vader Down” comic book event saw him face an army of rebels, and simply declare himself surrounded by “fear and ᴅᴇᴀᴅ men.” But I don’t think anything can top one epic scene from Star Wars Rebels.
Darth Vader’s Ultimate Entrance Is… Just So Very Extra
But Still Kinda Epic
In the Rebels season 2 finale, “Twilight of the Apprentice,” Darth Vader appears on Malachor to take on Ezra Bridger and take the Sith holocron from him. However, the way Vader enters is just so extra. As QG Jenna (@QuiGonJenna) on X points out, there’s absolutel no practical reason for Darth Vader to stand on a TIE fighter for his grand entrance.

While there’s no denying that this entrance by Vader is awesome, it is entirely unnecessary and impractical. Imagine the orders he must have given to the pilot; “fly near me, I want to stand on your TIE.” While Darth Vader isn’t someone you say no to, the mere idea of that being an order is kind of hilarious.
Anakin Skywalker Really Was There All Along
Even If Vader Tried To Erase Him
We so often talk about Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader being two separate people, and in many ways, they are two sides of the same coin. However, you can always spot hints of the other persona in the other. This moment in Rebels shows that Anakin Skywalker’s flair for dramatic entrances didn’t die when he became Vader.
Meanwhile, we’ve seen Vader appear in Anakin before. It shows that even though Vader told Obi-Wan Kenobi that Anakin was gone and he had killed him, there were these personality traits that still persisted. It’s these small points of continuity that help us remember and highlight that Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader are the same person.
It’s clear that Darth Vader has some of the best aura farming there is in Star Wars, but putting those moments into the context of that character as a whole leads to more connections to be made.

Few other characters would stand on top of a TIE fighter for the sole purpose of making a grand entrance, but we cannot deny how cool Vader looked in Rebels.
