A number of must-watch movies are coming to streaming over the weekend of July 4. As the 2025 summer movie season heats up, a number of sizable hits have come to theaters, including the Brad Pitt project F1 The Movie and the live-action remakes Lilo & Sтιтch and How to Train Your Dragon.
However, many notable movies have also dropped on streaming throughout June. These range from exclusives such as Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters and Hulu’s Predator: Killer of Killers to theatrical releases from earlier in the year, including The Accountant 2, Snow White, and The Alto Knights.

Ryan Coogler’s Sinners arrives on Max on July 4. The horror movie, which stars Michael B. Jordan as twin brothers who must face off against vampires, is already a runaway hit. It grossed $364.7 million, becoming the highest-grossing horror movie of 2025 so far worldwide and the highest-grossing original movie of the 2020s at the domestic box office.
At some point during the summer of 2025, Max will be rebranded back to being called HBO Max.
The movie’s must-watch status is unquestionable, as it has so far won over nearly every critic and audience member. In fact, on Rotten Tomatoes it has earned both a Certified Fresh score of 97% and a Verified H๏τ audience score of 96%. These near-perfect ratings make it one of the best-reviewed wide releases of the year.

John Cena & Idris Elba Lead This Action Comedy
Prime Video’s Heads of State arrived on July 2, and it immediately debuted at the top of the Amazon streaming service’s daily chart of their most-watched movies, both in the United States and globally. The action comedy stars John Cena and Idris Elba as the U.S. President and the U.K. Prime Minister fighting their way across enemy territory.
The new movie is notable because it marks the first time that the two action powerhouses have co-starred in a movie since 2021’s The Suicide Squad, the James Gunn superhero movie that launched the popular Cena-led spinoff series Peacemaker.
