A24’s 89% RT Horror Hit Is Now Available To Watch At Home

A24 is known for bringing lots of great movies, but this year hasn’t been the most solid. On the one hand, some of their more recent movies have been well-received. Materialists has gotten great reviews, for example, and is doing well at the box office for the romance genre.

On the other hand, however, there have been movies like Opus, which did poorly critically and commercially. Despite starring Ayo Edebiri, who is known for the hit television show The Bear, the film only made $2 million worldwide and was poorly received by critics.

Additionally, the studio was met with another disappointment later in March. It was Death of a Unicorn, which made only $16.4 million worldwide. Like Opus, it had a strong cast, but still could not have a big impact, especially since Death of a Unicorn received mixed reviews.

Despite a few hiccups, May saw the release of a highly anticipated A24 horror movie that restored the company’s reputation in terms of reviews but faltered more significantly in terms of the box office.

Bring Her Back Is Now Available On VOD

The Movie Got Strong Reviews

Bring Her Back is officially digitally available. The movie was made by Danny and Michael Philippou, the directors behind Talk to Me. It starred Sally Hawkins as a foster mother who brings children Andy (Billy Barratt) and Piper (Sora Wong) into her home, only to make them participate in a disturbing ritual.

Bring Her Back got great reviews overall, scoring an 89% Tomatometer on Rotten Tomatoes. This score included a 6 out of 10-star review from ScreenRant‘s Mary Kᴀssel, who praised its characters but noted that “Bring Her Back has nothing new to say.”

Per Prime Video, Bring Her Back is now available to watch digitally. The film just arrived on July 1, making it a brand-new movie on the platform and other VOD sites. It is available to rent or purchase, with options starting at $19.99.

What This Means For Bring Her Back

Could It Make A Comeback?

Despite its positive reviews and the hype surrounding its directors, Bring Her Back was not the box office sensation that A24 hoped for. It made only $22.6 million worldwide, paling in comparison to the Philippous’ debut feature, Talk to Me, which made $91.9 million.

As such, this digital release is a great chance for Bring Her Back to really make a big comeback. For those who may not have caught it in theaters during a jam-packed release schedule that included Mission: Impossible 8 and Lilo & Sтιтch, this is the time to watch it.
