Charlize Theron is one of the most talented female action stars of this century. One of her standout roles in the genre came with Atomic Blonde. This gun-fu spy movie tells the story of an MI6 agent who is sent to Berlin undercover during the Cold War to investigate a murder.
Atomic Blonde may not have been the highest-grossing film at the box office, making $100 million on an estimated $30 million budget, but it was a critical attempt at a female-led ᴀssᴀssin movie. It got generally positive reviews and helped pave the way for similar movies to be made.
The 2010s also saw Theron play Furiosa in Mad Max: Fury Road. Her performance earned her praise and awards, and the character was so popular that she got her own prequel movie, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, in 2024. Now, Theron is in another action movie, this time for Netflix. The film is a sequel to a 2020 movie, and its debut Rotten Tomatoes score has been revealed.

Gina Prince-Bythewood, who has more directing experience, helmed the original movie while Victoria Mahoney took charge of the sequel. Additionally, it took nearly five years to make a sequel.
