Does Jurᴀssic World Rebirth Have A Post-Credits Scene?

Jurᴀssic World Rebirth is the latest installment in the dino-fueled franchise and is intended to launch a new era, which could leave viewers questioning whether they need to stick around for a post-credits scene. The seventh film in the franchise follows a team on a top-secret mission on the island of Ile Saint-Hubert, which was once used by InGen as a research facility and is filled with mutated dinosaurs.

Jurᴀssic World Rebirth‘s cast is led by Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Jonathan Bailey. Set five years after the events of Jurᴀssic World Dominion, Rebirth serves as a quasi-reboot, introducing a new cast of characters who could return in future films. Considering Hollywood’s frequent use of credit scenes, something Jurᴀssic World has done before, there was a possibility that Rebirth might include one as well.

Jurᴀssic World Rebirth Does Not Have A Post-Credits Scene

But You Should Still Stick Around

It is confirmed that there is no post-credits scene attached to Jurᴀssic World Rebirth. The film concludes without the inclusion of any mid-credits or post-credits scenes. While many franchise films and sequels use credits scenes to wrap up storylines, add humor, or hint at future films, director Gareth Edwards and the producers behind Rebirth opted not to include one.

Viewers watching Jurᴀssic World Rebirth in theaters or on streaming don’t need to worry about missing any hidden scenes during the credits. However, it’s still worth watching them. The credits highlight the many people who contributed to the film and feature composer Alexandre Desplat’s original score, which are compelling enough reasons to stick around until the end credits are finished rolling.

Jurᴀssic World Rebirth’s Post-Credits Scene Decision Was The Right Choice

Jurᴀssic World Has Done A Credits Scene Before

It’s not particularly surprising that Jurᴀssic World Rebirth doesn’t include a post-credits scene, considering the franchise’s track record. The first four Jurᴀssic movies ended without any extra scenes, and Rebirth now marks the sixth out of seven movies in the series to follow that tradition. The only exception was the fifth installment, Fallen Kingdom, which did include a post-credits scene.

Jurᴀssic World: Fallen Kingdom‘s post-credits scene shows pterodactyls landing on the Eiffel Tower replica in Las Vegas, serving as a tease for the next film, Jurᴀssic World Dominion, by showing dinosaurs venturing into the human world. That moment in Fallen Kingdom raised the possibility that Rebirth might continue the trend and use a post-credits scene to tease the future of the franchise.

However, there is a good reason why Rebirth opted not to include a post-credits scene. While Universal hopes Rebirth will launch a new era for the franchise, a sequel has not yet been confirmed. Even though Jurᴀssic World Rebirth is expected to perform well at the box office, the studio is likely waiting to gauge both its critical and commercial success before committing to what comes next.

Jurᴀssic World Rebirth releases in theaters on July 2.
