Star Wars LEGO’s Revenge Of The Sith Celebrations Continue With New Order 66 Sets & More

A new month means new first looks at upcoming Star Wars LEGO sets! Following a large wave of new sets since May, LEGO has revealed a collection of new Star Wars models that collectors can look forward to releasing on August 1st. This includes a couple of impressive sets seemingly inspired by Order 66.

Continuing the celebrations for Revenge of the Sith and its 20th anniversary, LEGO has revealed two major models inspired by troop transports from the third prequel movie (and the Clone Wars). However, we also have a first look at a set inspired by the upcoming Star Wars LEGO series, Rebuild the Galaxy: Pieces of the Past. August 1st will also see a unique play-scale model of a ship that was just released in May as a much larger Ultimate Collector Series model.

LEGO’s New August Star Wars Sets Are Looking Pretty Cool

Revenge of the Sith Models, Rebuild the Galaxy, And A New Jango Fett Firespray

Here’s a quick breakdown of each new Star Wars model that’s just been revealed by LEGO:

  • Republic Juggernaut (75413) – Inspired by its appearance in the Clone Wars and Revenge of the Sith, LEGO hasn’t made a Republic Juggernaut since 2016. Also known as the Turbo Tank, the set will consist of 813 pieces with a price tag of $159.99. The set will also come with minifigures of Jedi Master KI-Adi-Mundi, 3 Galactic Marines, Commander Bacara, and 3 B-1 battle droids.
  • Battle of Felucia Separatist MTT (75435) – Also $159.99, LEGO’s new MTT will consist of 1040 pieces, featuring minifigures of Jedi Master Aayla Secura, Commander Bly, 3 Commando Droids, 6 B1 Battle Droids, and 1 Pilot Battle Droid, another exciting Revenge of the Sith model.
  • The Force Burner Snowspeeder (75414) – Inspired by the upcoming Disney+ series Rebuild the Galaxy: Pieces of the Past, The Force Burner Snowspeeder features a repainted T-47 with flames and even a detachable speederbike. Featuring minifigures of Sig and Dev Greebling from the first season, the set also includes the new villain Solitus, wielding two lightsabers attached by a chain. It was also just revealed that actor Dan Stevens will be voicing the fallen Jedi Master. With 357 pieces, the set will have a price tag of $54.99.
  • Jango Fett’s Starship (75433) – While a much larger UCS version of Jango Fett’s Starship was released back in May, LEGO is now releasing a playscale model that’s much more affordable. Featuring minifigures of Jango Fett and Boba Fett, the set also comes with the first-ever minifigure of Kaminoan Prime Minister Lama Su. At 455 pieces, the set will cost $69.99.
  • Battle Droid With STAP (75428) – While a first look was already released last month, it’s worth noting that the new Battle Droid with STAP model is now on sale as of July 1st (910 pieces at $139.99).

I’m Surprised By The Subtle Order 66 Connections

The Minifigures and Box Art Aren’t Coincidences

Star Wars Jedi Aayla Secura being killed by Clone Troopers during Order 66.

What I find most interesting from this new wave of LEGO sets is the rival Republic and Separatist troop transports, specifically their respective ties to Order 66, the dark purge that saw the end of the Jedi Order in Revenge of the Sith. The Republic Juggernaut comes with KI-Adi-Mundi along with Commander Bacara and some Galactic Marines. There were the same clones who killed Mundi on Mygeeto (the planet the box art seemingly depicts).

Similarly, Ayala Secura was killed on the planet Felucia by her own Clone Commander Bly. Rather than being overt with the models’ Order 66 connections (which would be odd given the dark context), I appreciate LEGO’s intentional design and more subtle tribute to one of Revenge of the Sith’s most tragic and important scenes.
