An untold Star Wars story centering around the character of Ahsoka Tano would have revealed a dark Sith secret. Ahsoka Tano’s Star Wars timeline began in The Clone Wars, yet has since expanded into the New Republic era. The Clone Wars‘ timeline focused on Ahsoka as a young Padawan to Anakin Skywalker and a commander in the тιтular conflict.
Despite being one of the best Star Wars TV shows, the original run of The Clone Wars was soured by an early cancellation after season 6, meaning many storylines that were planned went unfinished. Some of these arcs were told as comics, novels, in other shows, or in the revived The Clone Wars season 7.
That said, many others are yet to see the light of day. Many still hope that, one day, these tales will be shown in one way or another. As of right now, though, they remain secretive. One of these stories centered on Ahsoka, one of Star Wars’ best characters, and would have uncovered a very dark Sith secret.
One Untold Ahsoka Story Would’ve Seen Her Learn Sith Secrets On Coruscant
The Sith Had Secrets Buried Deep
In a Tumblr post, an unfinished arc focused on Sith shrines was outlined. Complete with drawings from Dave Filoni and other supporting materials, this arc was confirmed as one in which Ahsoka discovers a Sith temple hidden below ground on Coruscant. This temple and concept were later used in Star Wars Rebels’ season 2 finale as the planet Malachor.
Originally, though, this kind of temple would have been buried beneath Coruscant’s sprawling city. The arc included Yoda being lured to the temple by Darth Sidious, only for Ahsoka and several other Jedi to venture into its depths to rescue him. This arc saw Sidious seeking a Sith Holocron to glimpse the future and see if his enemies had been defeated.
At the end of the arc, Yoda would have been rescued and the Sith temple destroyed. As is typical for The Clone Wars, Yoda would have been left disturbed by the reality that the Jedi Order’s enemies are much closer to home than first thought.
The Ancient Sith Used To Sacrifice Jedi
As Palpatine Would Have Tried
To make this canceled Clone Wars arc even darker, it would have linked to the Sith’s sacrificial past. The arc would have explored the idea that the Sith used to sacrifice Jedi captives in ancient times, likely in the time of Star Wars’ Old Republic, way back in the franchise’s timeline.
In this arc, Palpatine/Sidious would have tried to do the same to Yoda. This is an incredibly dark storyline and potentially would not have been allowed to be explored on a mostly child-friendly show like The Clone Wars. Regardless, the overall concept could explain something about the Sith and their endless attempts at securing power.
I Think I Know Why The Sith Killed Jedi In Dark Rituals
One of the recurring ways in which the Sith try to accrue power is via the use of Force vergences. Force vergences are extremely powerful, concentrated areas of the Force, often surrounding an object or even a person. Anakin Skywalker himself was a Force vergence, explaining his strength with the Force and why Palpatine wished to turn him to the dark side.
Before Palpatine, his master, Darth Plagueis, wished to use Force vergences to extend his life, making him immortal. One question that has never been answered, however, is how dark side Force vergences are created. That said, one long-held theory has claimed that dark deeds for the sake of darkness can create such vergences.
Therefore, this could explain why the Sith used to kill Jedi in dark sacrificial rituals below Coruscant. The Sith could have been attempting to create Force vergences, thus using their power to overcome the Jedi. This would have made an already dark Star Wars story even bleaker, explaining why it remains one of Ahsoka Tano’s canceled tales.
