Sydney Sweeney has had one of the most notable explosions of fame in the last few years, but not all of her films have proven to be hits. Echo Valley‘s reception has not been as strong as one might have hoped. The film has just a 51% Tomatometer on Rotten Tomatoes and a nearly identical 50% from audiences.

One of the mixed reviews came from ScreenRant‘s Mary Kᴀssel, who gave the movie 4 out of 10 stars. Kᴀssel noted that “Echo Valley uses grief as a clutch” and loses interest too early. This is Sweeney’s first release of the year, so it is not a great start for her. But the actor still has notable chances to redeem herself.

The plot will focus on people whose lives connect when they violently vie for control of a rare Lakota Ghost shirt as it falls on the black market. The Americana trailer has Quentin Tarantino-esque qualities, as well as more details about Sweeney’s character.

Eden is the next film from award-winning director Ron Howard. It takes on a different genre spin from Americana, serving as a jungle thriller about a group of people who decide to adventure in the Galápagos.

The Housemaid is also a thriller-based film, directed by comedic writer Paul Feig. The film will tell the story of a woman who tries to start life anew as a maid for a wealthy couple. In addition to Sweeney, The Housemaid‘s leading cast includes Amanda Seyfried and Brandon Sklenar.
