My Darkest Fantastic Four Theory Just Became A Whole Lot More Likely

The Fantastic Four: First Steps seems to be gearing up to reveal a dark secret about Reed Richards and the team that the latest trailer further confirms. Marvel’s First Family are finally making their way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), just as the Multiverse appears to be falling apart.

The excitement and anticipation surrounding this movie appears to be growing at an astronomical rate, with the trailers in particular generating a lot of hype. Alongside the first looks at the iconic superhero team, the trailers also tease the arrival of Galactus, as heralded by his faithful servant, the Silver Surfer.

However, in addition to introducing one of the most intriguing villains in Marvel’s comic book history, the film also hints at a dark origin story for The Fantastic Four. And with every new detail, I become more and more convinced that this dark theory will be proven true.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ New Trailer Reveals More About The MCU’s Galactus Debut

Galactus Will Make A Considerable Impression On Earth In The MCU

Galactus is known as the Devourer of Worlds, because as a giant Celestial being who is as old as the universe itself, that is what he does. However, on his journeys through the depths of space, he is often drawn to certain planets.

Whether there is an abundance of resources, energy, or a particularly compelling being, Galactus seeks out his next meal with incredible hunger and lust. And while speculation points to several reasons why Galactus could have been drawn to the Earth where The Fantastic Four live in the MCU, one theory appears to hold more weight than others.

Clearly, the heroes are one of the most unique aspects of this world. After all, they have been declared as the only super beings on their planet in recent discussions with the director of Fantastic Four: First Steps, and this alone is an intriguing draw for a being like Galactus.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ New Trailer Makes One Major Movie Theory Seem Even More Likely

Reed Richards Is The Reason Galactus Is Coming To Earth

While many theories point to Reed Richards being the one responsible for Galactus’ arrival, the latest trailer adds even more weight to this idea. At one point in the video, as Reed is discussing the dire situation with Sue, he says that they can “make this right.”

That seems like a pretty clear declaration that Reed feels personally responsible for drawing Galactus to their Earth. As has been seen in the comics frequently, the way the team acquire powers is due to their time in space, when they are hit by cosmic rays.

Reed is typically the mastermind behind the operation to fly into space, and his research opens the door for the team to explore space, which also puts them in the path of the cosmic rays that alter their DNA. Which all adds up to something that could have stirred Galactus’ appeтιтe.

The Fantastic Four’s Story Being Tied To Galactus In This Way Would Explain A Major Trailer Plot Point

The Fantastic Four Are Seasoned Heroes In The MCU

While The Fantastic Four: First Steps, is not attempting to rehash the same origin story that has been seen in two earlier theatrical feature films, this team of heroes clearly got their powers through some cosmic incident.

Reed is almost certainly the reason the team was ᴀssembled, and ended up in the path of cosmic rays. And now, however long after acquiring these powers, Reed appears to believe Galactus is coming to right his wrong, and restore the natural order.

However, Reed is also determined to not allow Galactus to come to his home and bully the people of Earth. Reed is clearly making a plan, and gathering his team in an effort to hold back the Devourer of Worlds, and save the day in The Fantastic Four: First Steps. However, that may not happen if Reed and his family end up fleeing their reality.
