Brad Pitt’s Apple TV+ Racing Movie Soars With Top Gun: Maverick-Level RT Audience Score

Brad Pitt‘s Apple TV+ movie has overwhelming audience reactions that drew comparisons to Tom Cruise’s Top Gun: Maverick. The actor’s production company, Plan B Entertainment, has a broader deal with the streamer. He has previously worked with Apple TV+ on the 2024 crime thriller Wolfs, alongside George Clooney.

Top Gun: Maverick, released in 2022, is a sequel to Cruise’s 1986 action-adventure. The follow-up sees Pete “Maverick” Mitchell training an elite team of graduates for a special ᴀssignment, while confronting the ghost from his past. Directed by Joseph Kosinski, the movie received high praise from both critics and fans.

It currently has a critic score of 96% and an audience score of 99% on Rotten Tomatoes, with many claiming that the sequel surpᴀssed the original in delivery and entertainment.

F1: The Movie Has A Near-Perfect RT Audience Score

The Se7en actor stars as Formula 1’s promising driver, Sonny Hayes, in Apple TV+’s F1 The Movie, which follows his return to the racing world 30 years after a dangerous accident that almost ended his career. What The Audience’s Reception Means For F1 The Movie

F1: The Movie Might See A Maverick-Level Success

F1: The Movie shares similar action DNA with Maverick, which ended up being a mᴀssive box-office hit, having grossed over $1.4 billion during its theatrical run. It’s rare to see both the audience and critics hyped up for the same movie. Cruise’s 2022 sequel was one of the exceptions, and it looks like the 2025 sports movie might be on the same track to success.

ScreenRant‘s review of F1 The Movie echoed the overall audience’s reaction to Pitt’s new Apple TV+ movie. In the review, Mae Abdulbaki argued that the actor’s adrenaline-fueled sports drama is one that has the power to “change your mind about F1 racing” for those who are not already a fan.

The review also pointed out that the trailers don’t accurately reflect its “irresistible charisma” and “terrifically executed” racing scenes. F1: The Movie has real stakes as well as layered character dynamics that make it a well-rounded piece.
