Popular Batman & Wonder Woman Casting Choices Join David Corenswet’s Superman In DCU Art After James Gunn’s Recent Comments

The DC Universe is rebooting Batman and Wonder Woman for the big screen, and new art brings two popular casting choices to life. The DCU is working on a new Wonder Woman movie, as well as a reboot for Batman, with the movie тιтled The Brave and The Bold. Since new actors are set to replace Gal Gadot and Ben Affleck, many are naturally curious about who will be taking on these beloved characters in the DCU franchise.

With Gunn having recently shared updates that DC Studios is writing both of their films, fans are sharing who they want to see as the new Batman and Wonder Woman. Graphic artist John Kregan recently shared DCU artwork where they imagined Brandon Sklenar and Melissa Barrera as the DCU’s Dark Knight and Amazonian heroine, next to David Corenswet’s Superman. Check it out below:

While the Batman and Wonder Woman reboots are being written, only The Brave and The Bold has a director, as IT helmer Andy Muschietti is attached. At the time of this story’s publication, the casting processes for the Wonder Woman and The Brave and The Bold have not started yet.

What The Brandon Sklenar & Melissa Barrera As Batman & Wonder Woman Art Means For The DCU

When it comes to major roles like Batman and Wonder Woman in the DCU, fans are obviously going to make their voices heard about who they want to see as the respective heroes. Given Gunn’s Wonder Woman and Batman movie updates, fan art pieces will be emerging now more than ever. Even though casting won’t begin until after the scripts are done, the fact that Barrera and Sklenar are gaining popularity to be the next live-action takes on the characters speaks volumes.

Whether Gunn and DC Studios are paying attention to the conversations fans are having about these actors being the next Dark Knight and Wonder Woman remains to be seen, but Sklenar and Barrera have both talked about the potential roles. In a recent interview with ScreenRant, Sklenar shared how he wants to be the DCU’s Batman, and Barrera addressed the Wonder Woman casting speculation earlier this year. Given how widespread the fan conversation seems to be, it’s hard to imagine Gunn not being aware to some degree.

Our Take On The Brandon Sklenar & Melissa Barrera As Batman & Wonder Woman Art

Justice LEague #28 Wonder Woman Batman Superman

Seeing how incredible Sklenar and Barrera would look as Batman and Wonder Woman, it would be great to see them being officially considered for the roles when the casting process for both films comes around. The bigger question, however, is whether the DCU will get Wonder Woman or The Brave and the Bold out first. Hopefully, more updates on Batman and Wonder Woman’s respective DCU reboots will emerge before 2025 is over.
