“Let’s Go Back To Talking About Death”: Pedro Pascal Dodges Questions About Avengers: Doomsday

With Pedro Pascal’s Marvel Cinematic Universe debut getting closer this summer, The Fantastic Four: First Steps star remains coy about Avengers: Doomsday. Although the MCU timeline has been building up to the introduction of Marvel’s First Family, fans will be seeing a lot of them in Phase 6, as the Fantastic Four will return in Avengers: Doomsday.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, the outlet attempted to ask Pascal as many questions about Avengers: Doomsday as possible. However, in true MCU fashion, the Reed Richards star remained very cryptic. The Avengers: Doomsday and The Fantastic Four: First Steps actor had the following exchange with Vanity Fair:

Pedro Pascal: Very good question.

Vanity Fair: Which of the Avengers will be there?

Pedro Pascal: Good question.

Vanity Fair: And now you’re an Avenger?

Pedro Pascal: I don’t know, I don’t know. [laughs] Let’s go back to talking about death and suicide again and not the Avengers!

What Pedro Pascal’s Avengers: Doomsday Responses Mean

It’s crucial to remember that Pascal has to remain тιԍнт-lipped since his MCU debut has technically not happened yet. When this interview was conducted, it was before The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ release, and the actual plot for Marvel’s First Family has yet to be revealed. Given The Fantastic Four: First Steps takes place on another Earth, whatever way they get to Earth-616 in the Avengers: Doomsday story is in itself a major spoiler.

Even if The Fantastic Four: First Steps had already been released, something as major as Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars would be under more secrecy than other MCU films. Getting any details out of the actors who are confirmed for both films, including Pascal, will definitely be one of the funnier challenges during any press tours they do between now and then.

But for any longtime MCU fan, that is always one of the most comedic parts of following Marvel Studios projects in general. Even though some MCU trailers sometimes give away more than Marvel Studios may realize, the actors still always walk a fine line around spoilers.

Our Take On Pedro Pascal’s Avengers: Doomsday Responses

While it’s certainly humorous to see Pascal dodging all these Avengers: Doomsday questions, it will be interesting to see how he deals with that after the release of The Fantastic Four: First Steps, when he might be able to elaborate a little bit further. After July, the MCU audience will know in what ways The Fantastic Four: First Steps ties into Avengers: Doomsday.

That is why it will be exciting to see how the Fantastic Four, including Pascal and Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, interact, given the team’s long history with the Marvel villain in the comics. Hopefully, more details on Avengers: Doomsday will emerge as they get further into filming.
