Where To Watch M3GAN 2.0: Showtimes & Streaming Status

M3GAN 2.0 is one of 2025’s most anticipated releases, as the first movie became such a cultural phenomenon following its release in 2022. The sequel was originally announced in January 2023, and fans will be glad to know that its release is finally here. Although the movie will initially be released exclusively in theaters, it will eventually come to streaming and VOD platforms, and audiences will be able to catch the movie from their own home. Based on the studio’s previous releases last year, it’s possible to estimate when M3GAN 2.0’s time in theaters will come to a close.

The initial trailers for M3GAN 2.0 teased a very similar kind of movie as the first, with bold humor and brutal violence coalescing in a unique brand of horror that very few movies have been able to replicate without coming across as cheesy or derivative. There’s something very fun and special about Gerard Johnstone’s directorial style that immediately gets audiences on board with the most absurd of concepts, and it still seems very present in M3GAN 2.0. The new movie will pick up with the тιтular killer android as she takes on a protector role when Cady (Violet McGraw) is threatened.

M3GAN 2.0 Releases In Theaters On June 27, 2025

The Sequel Has A Prime Summer Release

The original M3GAN was released in 2022, and now the release date for M3GAN 2.0 is just around the corner. The film is scheduled for release on June 27, over three years after the first movie came out and developed a huge online presence that helped spawn the long-awaited sequel. The film is rated PG-13 for violence, strong language, and Sєxual material, making it suitable for both teenagers and grown adults alike. Johnstone’s movie adopts a very similar tone and atmosphere as the first, with lots of dark humor and stylish filmmaking to separate it from most horror movies.

When Will M3GAN 2.0 Release On Streaming?

The Film Should Be Available To Stream In Around Three Months

As a Universal Pictures release, M3GAN 2.0 will eventually be available to stream on Peacock once its theatrical run is over. The service has housed the majority of Universal’s releases since its conception in 2019, and typically has a very quick turnaround when it comes to new releases. In 2024, the average number of days between a film’s theatrical release and its arrival on Peacock was just 90 – and this is typically made even shorter for horror movies, as seen with Speak No Evil and Nosferatu.

Since M3GAN was such an undeniable hit that’s thrived on streaming, it seems logical for Universal to make the sequel available as soon as possible. Audiences should expect M3GAN 2.0 to land on Peacock in mid-September, roughly three months after its theatrical release. However, if the movie performs exceptionally well at the box office, Universal may decide to keep it in cinemas for a while longer, subsequently delaying its streaming release. 2024 box office hits like Twisters and Despicable Me 4 had a longer wait, but they also belong to very different genres. Still, M3GAN 2.0‘s prospects will become clearer once it hits theaters.

When Will M3GAN 2.0 Release On Digital?

Audiences Can Purchase The Film Over The Summer

Universal releases also tend to have a quick turnaround when it comes to digital releases, allowing viewers to purchase and rent the movie on services like Prime Video and Apple TV for around $10-$20. This is usually much earlier than the streaming release date, as the studio can still make money from the purchases. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, these windows have gotten increasingly shorter. Last year, Universal Studios had an average turnaround of just over 28 days, meaning that audiences should be able to watch M3GAN 2.0 from the comfort of their own homes in late July.
