Netflix Audiences Are Loving The New Korean-Inspired Fantasy Movie

Netflix releases all kinds of original movies every year, but one of the most critically acclaimed movies of 2025 so far has been this Korean-inspired fantasy movie that audiences are loving. Netflix has become a hub for original animated movies as well as Korean projects, with The Mitchells vs. the Machines and Klaus being examples of the former and Squid Game and All of Us Are ᴅᴇᴀᴅ being examples of the latter. This Korean-inspired Netflix Original movie mixes aspects of both of these categories, making for a project that audiences are loving so far.

Netflix had an impressive slate of animated movies heading into 2025, with the streaming service itself releasing In Your Dreams and The Twits later this year. Movies like Guillermo del Toro’s The Buried Giant and other exciting projects are in the works, although release dates haven’t been announced yet. The film already has a 94% critic score and a 95% audience score as of the writing of this article, proving that it is a hit across the board (via Rotten Tomatoes). Many audience members were excited for the film upon the release of the KPop Demon Hunters trailer thanks to its stylized animation and usage of music, and its nice to see that this excitement has paid off.

KPop Demon Hunters tells the story of a K-Pop idol band who moonlight as demon hunters, although their mᴀssive fanbase isn’t aware of this secret profession. The film stars Arden Cho, Ahn Hyo-seop, May Hong, Ji-young Yoo, Yunjin Kim, and more. Several real K-pop singers provide the singing voices for the characters, meaning that there is a lot to love for fans of the genre, animation, and fantast stories.
