28 Years Later stars Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Alfie Williams reflected on how scary it was to run away from naked zombies in the horror movie. The trailers for the upcoming 28 Years Later show several naked or mostly naked zombie-like creatures hunting the characters in the film. As the тιтle implies, the movie will take place 28 years after the Rage Virus wiped out most of the United Kingdom. As seen in the trailers, many survivors are still stranded in the U.K. and the infected have not been contained.
In the film, Comer, Johnson, and Williams play three survivors who are trying to survive in the U.K. Ahead of the movie’s release, the three stars spoke to ComicBook.com about how scary it was to film with the naked zombies. Comer, Johnson, and Williams all agreed that running away from the creepy, naked zombies felt very real and left nothing to the imagination. Read their full comments below:
Comer: Yeah, even more terrifying. You run for your life. It definitely — there was no sense of, like, having to really force your imagination. It was like you were presented with the reality, and then you were told to run.
Johnson: Yeah, I feel like your instincts cut in, and then you just do it naturally. I think there was no… You didn’t wait for them.
Williams: You didn’t even get to say ‘action,’ it’s already gone.
What These Comments Mean For 28 Years Later
The Infected Will Be Terrifying In 28 Years Later
In 28 Years Later, Johnson and Comer play Jamie and Isla, who are married, and Williams plays their son, Spike. Since they are still alive many years after the U.K. has been seemingly abandoned by the rest of the world, all three of these characters probably have essential survival skills. Based on trailers for 28 Years Later, they are all members of a group that lives on Holy Island, which appears to be well-protected from the infected. However, it appears that Jamie and Spike will leave the island to embark on some type of mission in the movie.
At some point in the film, Isla will also end up on the mainland. Therefore, even though Jamie, Isla, and Spike are all seemingly main characters in 28 Years Later and have survived for many years, it’s possible that they will not all make it out alive. The infected in the 28 Days Later franchise have always been horrifying, and it seems like they have possibly evolved in the newest film in the series. Because of this and the recent comments from Comer, Johnson, and Williams, it’s safe to ᴀssume that 28 Years Later will be a terrifying movie.
