The latest episode of ScreenRant’s Debunking AI features Avatar: The Way of Water star Jack Champion discussing not only that franchise, but also his new Lionsgate drama Everything’s Going To Be Great. In each episode of Debunking AI, exciting guests respond to AI-generated information about their lives and careers. Given the current state of AI, this leads to some hilarious corrections while also unveiling truths about the guests and their latest projects.

Champion is a key cast member in Everything’s Going to Be Great, which ScreenRant‘s review called a “sincere family drama”. Champion plays Derrick Smart, the son of Buddy and Macy, who are played by Bryan Cranston and Allison Janney, respectively. ScreenRant’s review named Champion a “strong highlight” of the film, which releases in select theaters on June 20.

In Debunking AI, Champion introduces viewers to his Everything’s Going to be Great character. He also responds to AI predictions about the upcoming Avatar: Fire and Ash film, about which not much information is known beyond what was revealed at CinemaCon. AI Got Champion To Talk Avatar: Fire And Ash

“Do You Guys Have The Script Or Something?”

AI may have taken some wild swings when discussing Champion’s personal life (“I didn’t know that I released a song called ‘Coffee,’” he said) but it seems to have had some surprisingly accurate predictions when discussing Avatar: Fire and Ash. Champion played Miles “Spider” Socorro in Avatar: The Way of Water, and will return in the third film. When asked where his storyline will go, AI said, “Spider may join the Metkayina clan and adopt their culture, with him interacting with Tsireya hinting at his ongoing ties to the reef dwelling Na’vi.” His response was telling.

“That is… I don’t know what I can say here, but it may or may not happen,” Champion said, but continued, “that does seem fairly accurate, though.” The actor was relatively quiet, however when it came to AI’s other predictions about Spider. When asked if Spider would become a Na’vi, AI said, “Prediction: Spider is likely to either bond more deeply with Eywa in a mystical sense, or eventually gain an avatar body.” To that, Champion only said, “You’ll find out December 19th.”

Interestingly, AI also got right the impressive length of time for which Champion trained himself to hold his breath for Avatar. “Through four years of dedicated practice,” the chatbot revealed, “he achieved the ability to hold his breath for up to five minutes and 33 seconds.” Champion was initially surprised that the chatbot knew the answer, before correcting himself: “Okay, maybe I brag.” AI also said that Avatar 4 would resume production in early 2026, to which Champion replied “Well, thanks. I didn’t know that.”

What AI Revealed About Everything’s Going To Be Great

“It’s About A Struggling-To-Make-Ends-Meet Theater Family”

While Champion called AI’s summary of Everything’s Going to Be Great a “very dry way of putting it”, he did agree with what it said: “Everything’s Going to Be Great is a family drama about the Smart family navigating personal struggles and idenтιтy while pursuing their pᴀssion for regional theater.” “That is very true,” Champion said, adding, “It’s about a struggling-to-make-ends-meet theater family, and they’re going through the states living paycheck by paycheck and working their way through hardship, tragedy, [and] the good times.”

“I play the eldest son of the Smart family,” Champion continued, “Les is the name of Benjamin Ainsworth, who plays my younger brother. Derek is just focused on football and living an all-American life, I guess.” AI called Derek a football star, but Champion sH๏τ that down, saying, “He’s a wannabe football star who is not amazing at football.” The chatbot also said that Champion was “practicing skateboarding in between takes to stay grounded,” and although Champion admitted he does skateboard, he did say he wasn’t thinking, “‘I’ve got to go in character. Let me do a kickflip.’”

In the full video, Champion also hyped up Bryan Cranston’s juggling skills (“[he’s] probably a natural at everything”), reflected on working with Paul Rudd on Avengers: Endgame (“I had no lines”), and debunked theories that he is actually Iron Lad in the MCU (“I’ve never even heard of Iron Lad”).
