Rami Malek & Laurence Fishburne’s Action Movie With 88% Audience RT Score Gets Digital Release Date

While there are some big-name action blockbusters still to come, 2025 has already been a notable year for action films. There have been a lot of long-awaited sequels, including Den of Thieves: Pantera, which came out seven years after the 2018 original. A similar sequel release happened with The Accountant 2, which came out at the end of April, nearly a decade after the first movie’s 2016 release date. The most successful action releases of this year have come from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, although Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is climbing the charts.

One of this year’s action movie leads was Rami Malek. The star had his biggest breakout role with the USA Network series Mr. Robot, in which he played Elliot and received copious acclaim. After this opened the door to more roles, Malek became a true movie star, later winning an Academy Award for playing Freddie Mercury in the Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody. His other recent roles include parts in Amsterdam and Oppenheimer, as well as an action film from this year.

Our Take On The Amateur’s Digital Release Date

Audiences Like The Film

The movie’s box office performance was considered somewhat lackluster, as its budget was estimated at $60 million. However, the film has the opportunity to make a slight comeback with its digital sales. Though The Amateur got mixed reviews from critics, the Rotten Tomatoes Popcornmeter is at 88%. Even if it did not hit crazy numbers in theaters, this score proves that The Amateur‘s audience has always been its greatest champion, which makes it worthwhile to watch on digital. Hopefully, the audience can come through for it again as the film hits digital next week.
