Robert Downey Jr.’s Victor Von Doom ᴀssembles The Council Of Doctor Doom In Avengers: Doomsday Art

Haunting Avengers: Doomsday art sets up the idea of Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom bringing a very dangerous team to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While fans may have seen Tony Stark’s journey come to an end in Avengers: Endgame, the MCU audience will be getting to see what Downey Jr. is like as a central Marvel villain soon, as the Iron Man star will bring Doctor Doom to life in the MCU timeline. Given Doctor Doom is set to appear in both Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, the MCU is bound to be changed, forever.

With Avengers: Doomsday in production, Mohd Haris shared a new piece of MCU concept art featuring Downey Jr.’s upcoming Victor von Doom, but with a mᴀssive multiverse twist. Rather than letting the Avengers deal with one Doom variant, the artist pitched the idea of Downey Jr. forming his own Council of Doctor Doom. Check it out below:

The idea is inspired by the Council of Reeds, which has become a popular concept in the Marvel canon, and features numerous Mister Fantastic variants. However, at the time of this story’s publication, it has not been confirmed whether Downey Jr. will be playing more than one version of Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.

What The Avengers: Doomsday Art Means For Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom

As the next Avengers movies deal with Doctor Doom, there are obviously a lot of theories and anticipation about how Downey Jr.’s MCU return will be dealt with as he takes on this iconic supervillain. This fan-art bringing the idea of having Doctor Doom form his own council with other Victor variants to life showcases how some may be wanting more than just one iteration of the Marvel baddie. Given the larger scope of Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, the possibility absolutely exists.

However, the idea of Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom bringing in other variants of himself could also open the door for past actors who have played Victor in live-action to return. Having someone like Julian McMahon’s Doctor Doom return from the original Fantastic Four movies would fit the Multiverse Saga concept, given the Fox-Marvel era has been given several moments to shine in the last few years. Since there is still a lot of secrecy around who else is set to star in Avengers: Doomsday, time will tell if someone like McMahon could appear alongside Downey Jr.’s version of the villain.

Our Take On The Avengers: Doomsday Art

ultimate doctor doom-1

If Avengers: Doomsday were to do any version of a council of Doctor Doom similar to the artwork, it would raise the stakes even more, giving the MCU an even greater challenge. As the Avengers: Doomsday cast will fight Doctor Doom, it will be fascinating to see how some of the characters deal with the fact that this great villain will have the same face as one of their fallen allies. Hopefully, as Avengers: Doomsday gets further into principal pH๏τography, more details on Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom will start to emerge.
