New The Fantastic Four: First Steps Preview Gives An Early Look At Sue Storm & Reed Richards’ Baby

Marvel Studios debuts a new The Fantastic Four: First Steps trailer, showing more of Marvel’s First Family in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After years of waiting to see them part of the MCU, The Fantastic Four: First Steps cast is finally getting the spotlight this summer as the four beloved heroes become part of Marvel Studios’ ever-growing universe. However, as Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Ben Grimm, and Johnny Storm get their MCU debuts, The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ most powerful hero is also seemingly getting his due this summer.

With The Fantastic Four: First Steps arriving in July, Marvel Studios has released a new trailer as part of announcing that tickets are now on sale. While it had been confirmed that Sue is pregnant in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, the trailer gives a proper first look at what appears to be Sue and Reeds’ son, Franklin Richards. Check out the new The Fantastic Four: First Steps trailer below:

Before this trailer was released, Franklin had only been showcased through The Fantastic Four: First Steps Funko merchandise. The Fantastic Four: First Steps will mark Franklin’s live-action debut, as he hasn’t properly appeared in any prior Marvel movies or TV shows.

What The Fantastic Four: First Steps Preview Means For The MCU Movie

The Fantastic Four: First Steps‘ story will be taking place on a different Earth in the MCU multiverse, with the new trailer highlighting even more of the 1960s-retro-futuristic tone. Based on several moments – like the team traveling in the Fantasticar and seeing Reed’s upgraded spacesuits for the team – it also seems the reboot is making The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ comic influences clear. That is one of the main reasons why The Fantastic Four: First Steps benefits from taking place in another universe, wherein it can arguably have a more adventurous approach than had it been solely set in Earth-616.

While The Fantastic Four: First Steps trailer features Franklin, it remains to be seen how much of his powers will be seen in the Phase 6 installment. The rest of The Fantastic Four: First Steps footage also gives a lot of fun moments with Marvel’s First Family, honoring their chemistry and dynamics. The larger threat of The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ Galactus is also once again underlined in the new trailer, as their Earth becomes his next target.

While the journey to getting The Fantastic Four: First Steps has been a long one since the reboot was first put into development, the latest trailer makes it clear that the wait will have been worth it. As the Fantastic Four’s MCU adventure is just getting started, with the heroes set to return in Avengers: Doomsday, it is going to be exciting to see how Marvel’s First Family becomes a bigger part of this franchise. Hopefully, as The Fantastic Four: First Steps arrives in theaters next month, the Marvel icons’ introduction in the MCU will be the beginning of a new era for them for many years to come.
